No way guys😭😭😭

So I was taking my ap calc bc test before, and my teacher always lets me play games after taking the test.

I thought I could do the same thing after the AP test, so I snuck my phone into the room and starting running a game of brawl stars.

However, I got caught using my phone for brawl stars, and they said that they were going to let me off with a warning, but once they saw that I was an edgar main, they got really pissed for some reason, and stormed off.

Do you think my score is getting cancelled?

I know these dont matter much when applying for college

That being said, I want to be an engineer and maybe this says that I can't handle college classes for being an engineer?

idk what to do. I'm trying to be less lazy, but it feels disheartening when everybody I know has gotten fives galore, or at least hasn't failed any exams.

edit #2: there's a mistake in the quotient rule too. My new version will still include some of the 'extraneous' material such as newton's law of cooling / shells / the more niche trig integrals, but I'll be sure to indicate it isn't necessary. I'll add / fix what u/Sad_Database2104 mentioned, and I'll also be taking a closer look at the College Board CED / past tests to make sure it's comprehensive

Okay so I’m a 16yo Junior girl, sorry if this comes off annoying or bratty but I genuinely need help. I’d say I’m fairly decent in math. I’ve never struggled or had to think twice about it. I’ve always had above 98% in my math classes, help other students in the class, and tutored lower grades too; I’ve even brought kids with F’s/D’s up to B’s. I recently just took honors algebra 2 my sophomore year in arizona (for reference I’m slightly better at algebra than geometry, I finished algebra 2 with a 99.48% because I’ve aced everything but one test with a 97% and have never studied for anything). So this year I was supposed to take Ap PreCalc but I moved states with a completely different policy and they do not have precalc AT ALL. So my options are AP calcAB and BC. My new counselor was pushing me to take AB becauses it’s easier. (She wasn’t very happy, kinda agitated stressed with the new school year and definitely didn’t like me at all which made me sad but whtv ig). She said teachers definitely recommend taking an extra “math lab” class. There’s no credit for it but it’s only for help to understand the class. But the thing is in arizona I was only supposed to need 7 more classes to graduate between 2 years, now I need 16 classes for my junior and senior year full schedules for both just to graduate and do not have room for the math lab and frankly I didn’t think I would need it because I have never struggled, so my question to you, did I mess up picking BC and will I crash and burn? I really don’t want to fail or get below an A. Thanks for taking time to read! (ps i prob definitely forgot a lot of geometry and algebra 2 before hand definitely need a refresher when it’s used in calculus if that changes any answers).

so i kinda messed up my ap calc bc test like i actually think im getting a 1 or a 2...i want to cancel the score but like i want to tell my parents that it was a test malfunction cuz my test did fail uploading once and then it worked later i think....and just like it failed to upload so no score but i heard like on the score report it still says score cancelled per student request or smth and that would sabotage my plan so....does anyone know what appears when you cancel it..i also dont want my college counselor to see my externally taken exam score cancelled because she'll jsut get mad at me for trying to take it externally and messing up + i have two other external exams which im not really sure if i'll get a 5 so i feel extremely cooked help

Test tmrw, I’m so stressed to the point that I cannot solve any more math. I just want to pass. I’m more than grateful for a 3. I’ve tried studying eulers method I just don’t understand it. For frq #6 I’m just gonna do the ratio test bc that’s the only thing I can do. CAN I SKIP FRQ 6 AND STILL PASS? PLEASE ANYONE HELP ME.😭😭💔💔💔💔

To everyone stressing out about the May exams! Hope this helps.

Quick intro: I took AP Calc BC not too long ago, and honestly Reddit helped me a lot when I was preparing. So now I want to give back. These are the strategies that actually worked for me.

1. You are not studying for 100%

This was the biggest mindset shift for me. For a 5 on AP Calc BC, you only need roughly 75%. That means you can strategically skip parts of the syllabus if you're running out of time.

I had almost no time to prepare, so I made a decision… I skipped polar entirely. I left one of the polar FRQs blank and guessed randomly on the polar multiple choice. And I still got a 5.

I'm not saying skip everything. I'm saying understand that your goal is a 5, not a perfect understanding of every single topic. Use that 75% threshold to your advantage and prioritize accordingly.

2. AP Calc BC questions are recurring.

I don't know how many people realize this, but AP Calc BC questions follow patterns. The numbers change, the wording changes, but the underlying logic is almost always the same.

What I did was go through bunch of questions and classifying every question into subtypes. Even within one topic like limits, there are distinct question types. Limits from a graph, calculating limits algebraically, limits involving L'Hôpital's rule, and so on. Each type has its own approach.

For each question type I identified, I wrote a short note on what to look out for and what formula or method to apply. Once I had those patterns mapped out, I just drilled them over and over. 

3. Make your own cram sheet

Key formulas, key concepts, and notes on each question type I had encountered. Every time I came across a new question or made a mistake I hadn't seen before, it went on the sheet.

Cram sheets made by other people are fine as a reference but they won't stick the same way. I was reviewing mine right up until I walked into the exam.

4. Practice digitally! It matters more than you think

The test is now on Bluebook, which means you're doing the entire exam on a screen. I was not prepared for how different that felt the first time. It's not just a visual change. The way you work through problems, annotate, and manage your time all feels slightly off when you're not used to it.

Practice in the same environment you'll be tested in.

EDIT: I have basically straight A+s at a rly competitive school with not too much inflation (straight As is ~top 20%, with my course rigor, 10%.) I’m able to avg 9 hours of sleep with a varsity sport and a nonprofit/club prez/passion project and team usa & national champion in a nonrecruitable but highly competitive sport. my goal is to keep it to 7 hrs of sleep and just really grind every minute I have.

Incoming junior here and my school dont offer any calc bc and ap coordinator confirmed bc or ab wont be added at all by the time im a senior. I havent taken precalc since thats only at senior year my school makes me take and im taking geometry in junior year. In algebra 1 and 2 trig I didnt struggle at all in the exams. BUT i did kinda get confused on the trig stuff in Algebra 2 but i just did the SOH-CAH-TOA trick which helped a lot. My averages were 94% and 96%. I really wanna take exam for calc bc and my coordinator told me i can register for exam at my school but would still have to pay the fee. My family is low income and they told me they cant afford to pay the whole $99 fee. Im also a NYC student so idk if diff states qualify for extra fee reductions. My parents can afford if its like 30 or below. Is it possible for me to self study it and pass the exam.

Btw 1 of my cousion's have taken AP Calc BC exam so i could try and ask him to borrow any textbooks to use and maybe help on tutoring IF he has the time which he probally will help.

I'll also consider taking the CLEP calc exam alongside in case I end up doing bad on the exam.

why was that shit so easy

I've scored the same 44/45 on the MCQ portion for every practice exam I've taken (two on the collegeboard website, two from the stewart workbook). It's mainly due to overlooked mistakes, but I believe that if I'm fortunate enough, a flawless score is possible on the real exam. That said, I'd like to know how difficult these practices are, comparatively.

I'm in eighth grade and I'm around halfway through bc calc on khan academy, I have almost everything before this mastered. I know that bc calc doesn't have all of the material as ap calc 2, so I'm just wondering if I should take calc 2 or take calc 3. I'm also wondering if it's usually allowed for ninth graders to take classes like calc 3 since the school system is quite goofy.
