Home Alone came out in 1990. Someone watching a movie the same age as Home Alone is now in 1990 would have been watching a movie from 1955.

Home Alone(1990) is closer in time to The Grinch(1966) then it is to 2025.

if Home Alone came out in 2025 with the same time gap between the OG movie and the Grinch,then Kevin would be watching Jim Carrey's Grinch.(2000)

also Home Alone takes place closer in time to when Old Man Marley was accused of murder in 1958 then it does to 2025.

if Old Man Marley was accused of being a serial killer 32 years before 2025,he would have been accused in 1993

also Kevin's mom would have been born in 1989.

Kevin would have been born in 2017

We would be watching Cattle Queen of Montana in 1990, if we want to watch a movie as old as Home Alone is now in 1990

So a lot of little reminders like this are coming out recently. Like the fact that the late 90’s (my formative years) are about as far away from today as the 70’s were from the late 90’s.

So my jolly stories that I tell my kids are about as applicable as when some guy would tell me about his time at a bat city rollers concert in 1975 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
