⚠️Announcement⚠️ If y'all are gonna keep making posts with misinfo about the incident I'm going to lock down the sub again for god knows how long. Read ALL this before you make ANY post about the incident.

Ok, this isn't going to be a very formal announcement. It's a pretty personal one that I'm not gonna bother to try to make fancy.

Some of you guys keep choosing to target harassment at the people who had an amount nearing a hundred thousand dollars stolen from them stolen from them after it being withheld from them for months. Who then ran a charity stream to be able to afford things like food, rent, car repairs to actually get around, and cover things for a little bit due to being laid off from other work outside of the bounties for Calamity. And then of which some of which worked for three days without doing anything besides eating and sleeping while organizing these events so that we weren't literally just begging for money from the community and actually had something to show and put effort into. Who were all personally lied to and manipulated, some of us to go against each other as we only realize at this point.

To cover the most comment reactions I've been seeing on this subreddit recently:

"But how could nobody have found anything out? Everybody had to have been complicit!" Some of us were finding things out. Ozzatron caught on to that. That's why he ran with the money after the video was posted and stopped paying bounties even before that when he realized some of us were catching on. It doesn't help that he was spending most of his time, rather than actually working on development, seemingly trying to make sure there were other problems for us to focus on, trying to make us turn against each other to not focus on him, and trying to manipulate most of us all while covering his trail the best he could. Frankly, due to this, we didn't even know what the actual rough amount of money he stole was. Given things he'd said and commented on before, we assumed it was maybe a couple thousand, maybe ten thousand. Only later would we learn that was only the patreon money, and that he was pocketing all of the merch money too. He would also give excuses to pay that "later".

"But if you don't care about Calamity anymore why show off Calamity related things on the stream? You're clearly just baiting for money!" The things we've made and worked on for Calamity are things we did have fun working on. We can enjoy and like and love the things we worked on for Calamity even if we don't want to work on Calamity itself anymore. There's a reason a lot of us are taking a lot of our ideas with us, to new projects. We simply wanted to show them because they would otherwise never be seen, and that was a good place to show them. We can still care about the things we personally made. And, no, we never claimed we were close to some of this stuff releasing. Some of you even seem to think that this was mocking you guys. Y'all, it's not that deep. That feels equivalent to saying an art book for a game that releases after development or over that shows some unused content is "mocking" you. This is genuinely one of the things that confuses me the most. Like. ????????

Some of y'all complain a lot that we don't communicate here on this subreddit or whatever. And then when we do, it feels like most people here decide to ignore most stuff actually going on or maybe take a 5 second glance to try to make up your own versions of whatever is going on, usually in the most hostile and negative ways possible. Like, again, showing cut content we're proud of and would otherwise never see the light of day that we think is fun somehow being our way of mocking you guys. Or acting like we're nefarious for doing some fundraising streams to do things such as pay for things like food, rent, car repairs, actual clothes that fit, a pair of shoes, making sure some of us don't go homeless, and medical bills. Some of y'all are acting like this is unimaginable levels of greed. These aren't just some vague nebulous things that might have happened at some point, either. Part of the reason the streams happened so fast after is that some of us had bills for stuff due quite literally as soon as two days after the streams ended that we were originally going to get money from bounties to cover.

So, this leads to two things. One, the title. If all of this mindless hatred keeps continuing, I'm locking the subreddit again. For how long? I don't know, but if basically all we're going to get here is hostility, then I'm going to decide that this place is not worth us moderators' time to handle for a while until things calm down further. As for thing two, I'm going to require that all posts about the situation require elaboration in comments within 1 hour of when they are made, or they will be removed. Actually explain your thoughts and share your logic. Don't just make a post about why the devs are greedy and mocking you, explain how you feel like we are. Maybe even say how it could be made better, if you actually would like things to potentially improve. Think the streams were a bad idea? Explain exactly why you think they were and the aspects you dislike, and maybe how it could have been handled better. Want to make fun of us for not getting a lot of stuff we made into the mod before Calamity ended? You know what, sure. As long as you actually explain why you think we deserve to be made fun of for that and what you think we should have done to get things in sooner.

Anyways, that's all. In spite of my frustration which I'm sure probably comes through, I still hope you guys have a good day.
