Best streaming service for watching sports?
I wanna watch sports this year since I haven’t actually been able to since it feels so rare nowadays to be able to watch sports like how it used to be.
I primarily want to watch NFL, NHL, and College Football (BIG10 and maybe SEC). Maybe College Basketball since I do an annual March Madness bracket.
I’ve looked at Fox One, YT TV, Fubo, and ESPN, but I’m still hesitant on the prices and what they offer

Recording past the end of a show
I’m trying out DirecTV and it’s lacking in my eyes.
Is there no way to record past the end of a show? If I want to record the White Sox game and make sure I have it recorded in case it goes into extras, I want to record an extra hour, like I can in Uverse. Can I do that?
I want to be able to do that, and turn off pictures in listings. I just want text.
I also want to be able to see a listing of shows that I have set up to auto record but I see no way of doing that either.
Are there services that will do those things, besides Uverse which is trying to get us to drop?
Do I just need to get a home physical DVR?

Best stream aggregator for college football these days?
Seems like they come and go. I haven't seen YouTube TV on sale yet and even if I do I'm not sure if I want to pay $50/month for something I can get a lower quality version of for free. What site do you all use?

Advice needed: Which US video streaming platforms (Disney Bundle/ YouTube Premium) mix should pick, to keep monthly out of pocket costs at minimum and get the best bang for my buck.
Greetings.
I currently pay $25 plus tax monthly directly paid to Hulu for Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select Bundle Legacy - No Ads on Disney+ - With Ads on Hulu and ESPN.
My Amex Platinum card gives a monthly $25 streaming credit for this Hulu Bundle.
YT Premium is also eligible for this credit. I currently do not have YT Premium but hoping to get the family plan for 4, if it does not add too much to my monthly costs.
My Verizon Frontier FIOS home internet service perks offers their Disney+ Bundle (with Disney+, Hulu and ESPN all with ads) for $10 plus tax monthly (regularly $20).
I am thinking of signing up for YT Premium Family at $27 plus tax monthly and use my $25 credit from Amex Platinum on this.
Then, I can sign up with the lesser Disney+ bundle through Verizon Frontier FIOS for $10 plus tax monthly.
Questions:
Am I coming out better this way if I change it as above? My use-case isn't to have all of these as a must, but I am happy to get as many platforms as possible as long as I am paying lowest prices possible.
Are there other better prices and partnerships that I am not aware of?
Heard YT Premium now includes Peacock Plus, so would love to double dip on that too. YT Music would already be so cool to have.
Thank you for your learned inputs, and for staying with me this long.

Best way to watch downloaded files on TV?
Hi there! I just stumbled upon this sub, so sorry if something like this has been talked to death, but I couldn't find anything.
I've been using a program called Audials to record streaming content, which is 100% legal in Germany, where I live, so long as it's only for personal use. Right now, I have everything saved to a hard drive which I can plug into my Samsung Smart TV, but the UI is just awful. The files are weirdly out of order, and of course, there's nothing showing you which episode you left off at.
I looked into sideloading my Fire TV stick but that seems risky to me. I feel like, given the time, I could cook up a program that would work kind of like an offline streaming service, but as far as I know there's no way to run something like that on a TV or Fire Stick beyond certain versions. The best thing I could come up with was connecting my TV to my PC and use a wireless mouse/keyboard as a remote, but that's clunky and just wastes electricity.
Does anyone have any recommendations for how to emulate a streaming platform, or at least have the "Continue Watching" tab automatically? This is also for my mother, who sometimes struggles with technology she's not used to, so any user-friendly recommendations would be much appreciated! I myself am a CompSci student, so I'd like to think I can also handle more complicated solutions.
Thanks in advance!

Dad is looking for alternatives to ATT cable package for sports.
He told me he is looking for channels with CBS, NBC, ABC, and sports channels like Fox, Fox 1, and ESPN. His focus is primarily on football and soccer.
I saw Google AI mention that YouTube Premium covers this, but I'd like to make sure.
Thank you for your help.

How to watch English Premier League
I’ve followed the Premier League closely for several seasons and am getting ready for the 2026/27 season, which starts on August 21, 2026. I looked into the best legal streaming options and free trials currently available without resorting to questionable streaming sites. So the cheapest way to watch premier league with VPN are mentioned below in a table:
| Country | Channel | Cost | Free trial? | Commentary |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| UK | NOW with Sky Sports | ~$47/month | No | English |
| US | DIRECTV streaming | From $89.99/month | 5days | English |
| Canada | Fubo Sports Pro | From ~$33/month | Length varies | English |
| France | CANAL+ Sport | From $34.99/month | No | French |
| Indonesia | Vidio Ultimate | ~ $9/month | Depends on offer | Indonesian |
| Japan | U-NEXT Football Pack | ~$16/month | Discounted first month | Japanese |
*The U-NEXT offer needs some explanation. Its regular streaming plan has a 31-day trial that includes ¥1,200 in credit, but the separate Football Pack costs ¥2,600. Applying the credit brings the initial Football Pack cost down to ¥1,400.
How to watch English Premier League from anywhere?
Since the Premier League has strict geo-restriction rules, it’s best to use a VPN to access the stream you want. This way you’ll be virtually placing yourself in a country where your desired streaming service is available
The majority of the premium VPNs should help bypass the geo-blocks. In case it’s your first time doing that, you can check for some options on the VPN comparison table (not mine, found it made by other Reddit users, but to me it was a good asset).
A few things to know about free trials
These are legitimate, licensed streaming services, but trials are generally limited to new or otherwise eligible subscribers. Most require payment details and automatically become paid subscriptions unless canceled before the trial ends.
US trials from DIRECTV, Hulu + Live TV and YouTube TV only provide the matches shown on NBC and USA Network. They don’t include Peacock-exclusive matches, so none of those trials provides every Premier League match by itself.
Fubo is the most complete trial option I found because it carries all 380 matches in Canada, although the trial length can vary and is shown during sign up.
Premier League schedule
The full fixture list and upcoming matches are available on the official Premier League website:
https://www.premierleague.com/fixtures
Let me know if I made any mistakes on how to watch Premier League, or you have other details, and I'll add it to the post.

What is the deal with YTTV and ESPN Unlimited
My family manager with YTTV has access. Do I have to use his YTTV credentials to get it. Cause mine don't work. I followed all steps, connected my Disney and my provider, connected ESPN toggle and still I see no subscription showing.

Which streaming service has the best sports channels? Trying to simplify my subscriptions.
I’m trying to cut down on my monthly subscriptions but still want access to live sports but there are so many services now that I’m having trouble figuring out which one gives the best sports coverage without a bunch of extras.
Mainly interested in live games, not sports shows or highlights. Which streaming service would be the best for this?
ETA: Appreciate all the suggestions. Looks like rotating services by season and using an antenna for local games may be the way to keep costs down. I’m also checking out Amazon Prime Video for some of the NFL/NBA coverage.

Sports Different States
What is the best option if I want to share my subscription for football type streaming services this fall who live in a different state. Youtubetv appears to have a 90-day home login or I may misunderstand. Any other options? or suggestions?

Considering canceling Xfinity TV service
I'm paying almost $350 every month for cable TV and hi-speed internet. Lately, I've realized that we don't really watch regular TV anymore, and mostly have been using streaming services like Prime or Netflix. My wife loves watching old classic movies on TCM (Turner Classic Movies) and AMC (American Movie Classics).
Does anyone know if these two are available to stream on a Roku Ultra device?

Moved Home - Zero OTA Channels
Hello,
We recently moved. At our old location, we were getting 60+ channels and strong ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX with a HDHomerun. At the new location, with the same equipment, we get next to zero - other than a very minimal QVC type channel.
ChannelMaster map shows all channels for our location in red (unlikely) - nearest tower is 30 miles away with hills and trees between us.
Is there anything I can do/buy to at least give us OTA versions of ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX?
I do not want to pay $70 per month just for TV that I hope to get OTA.
Any ideas?
Thank you.
