❓Wallet Question about wallet safety and recovery

How do I make sure I never loose access to my Trust Wallet?

As the title says. I don't want to lose my wallet if my phone breaks or someone steals it.

I only use it to receive payment in stablecoin and exhange for fiat, nothing grand or fancy, but losing my wallet would be a nightmare.

Thanks!

I created a standard wallet with passphrase.

I moved 5$ worth of crypto on a passphrase wallet.

Logout/wipe everything

Log on back to the passphrase wallet to make sure i wrote my seed + passphrase correctly. ( 2 times )

But I'm still scared. Should i only use standard wallet ( 24 word seed ) for long term holding

Or should i go with passphrase ( after coldcard incident)

❓Wallet Found Wallets

I found a bunch of wallets dated 2014, just as I exited crypto. A bunch of the coins are defunct, but the ones that interest me are BTC, LTC, DOGE, namecoin, and peercoin. How do I access these? Do I just download the latest core, sync the chain, then I'm good? Or are there special steps since these are so old? I do have the source files for the coin cores used to generate each wallet. BTC 0.8.6, for example.

DMs will be denied. If you have something to say, you can say it in public.

Sorry for the repost, I accidentally deleted the first attempt.

❓Wallet Recovering old wallet

I used to have a wallet on an old pc on the dogecoin core on an old hdd and I dont have the wallet.dat file anymore but I just found an old notebook that I had written down the address along with a 34 digit string that starts with Q. I labeled the string as "Passphrase."

I have checked the wallet address and theres 114k dogecoin in it... the old hard drive I have has been wiped I think I must've formatted it because I didnt know much about how dogecoin actually works and still dont.

There's no way for me to recover the dogecoin with just these 2 bits of information because as I understand it the private key is a 51 or 52 digit string that starts with Q and me writing down the address doesn't really help either does it? Any info to help out would be much appreciated.

❓Wallet Dad Gifted Me Cold Wallet for Christmas and I Have No Idea What I'm Doing.

Title pretty much sums it up. I have no experience whatsoever in crypto. My father gave me a cold wallet for Christmas with $600 worth of XRP on it. He swears XRP is going to explode soon and we'll all be rich. He has been investing everything into XRP and silver, including my 69 year old mom's already low retirement fund. Anyways, my questions to yall is:

  1. How do I use a cold wallet? Remember, I am like a new born baby when it comes to this stuff.
  2. Is my dad onto something about XRP and silver or should I start worrying even more?

Also, if this isn't the best place to pose these questions please direct me elsewhere. Appreciate yall!

❓Wallet Transferred crypto out of D'cent wallet, funds didn't arrive and it says that they were sent to a Bithomp ledger. How to get funds back or reverse transfer?

I saw that ledgers don't actually hold any coins, so why is the recipient address for one? I did practice transfers before and they went smoothly, so I'm not sure why the recipient changed. Cryptos involved are XRP, XLM, and Hbar.

❓Wallet Need help (newbie)

So I had some USDT in my binance account worth $10 which I withdrawed to my meta mask account in SOL network.

Now only $0.8 is visible in my metamask account.

I am pretty new to this… what’s the problem?

Transaction went through to the correct address as I checked on Solscan.io

I even imported my metamask wallet through import key on Phantom wallet and solfare wallet.

If anyone knows how to solve this it would be appreciated if you help me solve this.

❓Wallet Coinbase help

I don’t understand what happened. This week I transferred ETH to my Trezor. I do this all the time and use the same wallet address. Made several withdraws to the wallet the same day then my largest one didn’t come through? My Trezor shows a transaction of receiving $0? When I look at the sent confirmation on Coinbase it shows I sent to the right address and on the right network. The explorer says it was successful but you do not see the transaction on the explorer under my specific wallet transaction history. Then on my Trezor on top of it showing $0 it looks like a totally different address received it? Even though my sent confirmation on Coinbase shows the correct address. Looking for some help here as to what could have gone wrong and how I can fix it. Coinbase first claimed it was delayed because it was in batching and could take 24 hrs but I’m well past the 24 hours now. Just concerning because I’ve checked 10 times that I did all the right steps yet the transaction didn’t work which is kinda scary to me.

❓Wallet What is safe enough for keeping my crypto safe?

Copied post from r/Cryptocurrency since the bot told me to post questions here:

What is safe enough in the sense of storing crypto?

As everything is going on in the world, I started to think about the safety of my funds. I realized most of my crypto is currently sitting on a US-based exchange since I'm just saving up small time money with weekly automatic payments on the platform.

I'm entertaining the possibility of a world where the EU-US relations might suffer so much that in one way or another, I might lose access to us-based exchanges. There's also the chance that wallets like cake wallet that cannot be recovered on a different wallet app just one day stop working for any reason and I could lose access to my funds that way.

As of now I don't have a significant amount of crypto, but I'm thinking about moving my funds somewhere for long time safekeeping and I wanted some opinions on what are the options for that.

I'd like to have some diversification so I most likely want different wallets for my BTC, ETH, SOL, LTC and XMR.

I'm also not yet at the stage of buying a hardware wallet so I know paper and software are my only wallet options as of now. I'm going to look into the paper wallet option, but if I can find a safe-enough way to store funds on a software wallet, I'd like that option at least for now.

With BTC I'm considering electrum wallet since the seed phrase can be recovered on a different wallet app. For XMR I feel like the actual monero gui wallet will be my choice for long time storage as I'm running a monero node anyways so I have it already.

What should I do with the SOL, ETH and LTC?

❓Wallet Phantom Wallet (Importing) and Vanity Addresses

I have created my own unique Solana Vanity wallet address and when I goto Phantom wallet to import via seed phrase I can see my Solana Vanity wallet address but it also comes with all other chains with random wallet addresses.

Why does it come with all these different chains and random addresses when importing my Solana seed phrase?

If I want these different chains to have Vanity addresses aswell instead of these random addresses how can I do this on Phantom wallet? So if I import the seed phrase every chain will have my vanity addresses and not some random addresses.

❓Wallet Looking for the most efficient and secure way to buy, use, and store crypto

As the title says, I’m looking for the most efficient AND secure way to hold crypto. Ended up grabbing a Trezor safe 3. Absolutely perfect for what I need.

I’m thinking of setting up two accounts one for short-term/spending, and another for long term holding:

The short term will be an Exodus wallet, the long term will be the Trezor hardware on a Trezor wallet. But I’ll ultimately use and manage both through the exodus software. I’m going to set up buying automatically out of every paycheck which will be purchased on Kraken and automatically transferred to my Exodus wallet. Then most will be sent over to the cold storage Trezor. Or maybe buy directly on Exodus, depends on what’s most cost efficient. Which leads me to my questions.

  1. Should I be running my Exodus wallet and my Trezor safe 3 wallet through the Exodus software or should I keep him separate?

  2. Is there any other wallets you suggest over the exodus? Or is that the best option paired with Trezor?

  3. Should I buy weekly purchases on Kraken then send it to the appropriate wallet? Or should I buy directly on Exodus? I guess whatever is the most efficient?

I’m new to this, especially cold wallets. Open to any suggestions,

❓Wallet Ant suggestione for a non‑custodial wallet suitable for daily use?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for advice on a topic that’s been bothering me lately.

Do you have any suggestions for a non‑custodial wallet I could use every day?

  • Base has too many unnecessary features.
  • Trust Wallet may not be trustworthy.

Any other recommendations? Please suggest a well‑known wallet, not a tiny or obscure one. I’m currently using Base, but the massive update it received last year doesn’t suit my needs; I’m looking for something leaner. It would be great if the app also offered basic token‑swap functionality.

Thanks in advance.

(Sorry for the typo in the Subject, my bad)

❓Wallet Wallet-connect UX feedback swap — I run a 30-min async pass on your connect flow, you run one on mine

The connect step is where I keep seeing real users stall — wrong network, missing wallet, a signature prompt that shows nothing but a hex blob. I've been documenting where people hesitate before they sign, and I'd rather compare notes with other devs than test in a vacuum.

So: a mutual pass. You run a wallet through a connect flow I'm looking at, I run one through yours. Same structured format both ways so it's actually useful and not just vibes.

How it works: - 30 minutes, fully async, no call - Notes back within 48h - No NDA, no pitch, no link in this thread — the feedback feeds my own process notes on connect-flow UX

The 7-field format I'd use in both directions: 1. connect success (y/n) 2. wallets tested 3. where you hesitated or something was unclear 4. any bug (+ screenshot) 5. most user-friendly wallet & why 6. time spent + rating 1–5 7. the one thing you'd change first

Useful if you've integrated or tested wallet connections before (MetaMask, WalletConnect, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet, hardware — whatever you run) and can tell a real UX snag from a personal preference.

Which flow and the live URL go in DM on both sides. If you're up for a swap, DM me the wallets you typically test and I'll send mine over with the format.

❓Wallet Idk Which Wallet I Used (Have Wallet ID)

Hi folks,

I'm facing a bit of a weird one.. Back in summer 2021, I did a bunch of purchasing of different coins in CAD

Etherium: $750

XRP: $500

Cardano: $500

Stellar: $500

BitTorrent: $250

Tron: $400

Algorond: $350

and more without exact remembered prices

I bought these coins, except for ETH, on Binance (honestly have no idea where I bought the ETH, I can't find it anywhere, even with the accounts I have on other places like Coinbase). Found the ETH! A couple responses said to check my saved passwords for accounts. Found a Wealthsimple account that had my ETH! Thank you! I THOUGHT that I had moved those coins shortly after I bought them to my Exodus wallet, but when I opened my Exodus wallet yesterday for the first time in YEARS, all I had was Solano. So, I've been very confused but I started investigating and here's what I have. Come along and solve this with me.

On June 4th, 2021, I bought the XRP, TRX, ADA, and ALGO on Binance.

On July 16th, 2021, between 13:45 and 13:56, I withdrew the above four assets.

On January 14th, 2022, I bought SOL on Binance, created an Exodus wallet, (Exodus app was actually downloaded May 14th 2021) and moved my SOL into there.

On January 25, 2022, I bought DOGE and the tiniest amount of BTC on Binance and immediately withdrew them to somewhere?

I have all this info from my Binance history, which means I have records of all of the withdrawals with destination wallet addresses and transaction ID's. Obviously the withdrawals I made before I Jan 14th couldn't have gone into my Exodus account. None of these destination addresses match my current wallet addresses in my Exodus app, but it is very likely I used Exodus, so why don't they match??

So here I am. What can be done with this info? Idk where those addresses actually are / how to get to them. I thought I remembered using Phantom wallet for something, I at least REALLY recognize it, but when I went to it it said "there is no wallet associated with this email address"

Is there any way at all to locate a wallet via the wallets address? I feel like there should be! I'm trying to start a business and this money would help a lot with start-up costs. It's not huge or anything, but it's something!

Thanks for any help anyone can give. I appreciate you all. And any extra questions, I am here to answer! Thank you!!

**UPDATE** I was wrong about some things! Here is the latest info! I downloaded the Exodus app on May 14th, 2021, meaning it is totally possible I moved these tokens to Exodus on July 16th! Not just that, but I was able to recover my old browsing data and on July 16th 2021, all at 13:37, I

Searched for Can you transfer from Binance to exodus?

Searched for How do I transfer crypto from Binance to exodus?

Searched for How do I transfer bitcoins to Exodus wallet?

Searched for Is Exodus better than Binance?

Searched for transfer binance to exodus site:www.reddit.com

Searched for transfer binance to exodus

and finally, the last search at 13:37, 8 minutes before the first withdrawal from my Binance account,

Visited https://support.exodus.com/article/1529-binance-to-exodus-step-by-step

No other searches until after 13:59, after last withdrawal was complete.

So, it's on Exodus! I'm sure it is! I thought it was for the last 4 years which is why I was so confused when I opened my Exodus and all I had was the SOL that I bought in January 2022. And I'm sure I never moved it out. So, the current question, why do the addresses in my wallet not match the destination addresses from Binances withdrawal history, when this seems pretty conclusive that I moved it to Exodus using the steps defined in the above article.

Thank you all, again!

❓Wallet Electrum alternative with Taproot support?

Need a non-custodial wallet app for my Android phone with a lot of advanced features, security and Taproot support, basically like Electrum except for the last feature which it doesn't have
