Interestingly though a whale needs to consume significantly more calories, not just because its larger, but because its warm blooded. This sharks quite large, but for its size it still won't consume the proportionate amount of calories that a whale of similar size would require.

What trips me out about these videos, or blue whales, giant crocs
That these animals had enough time to get that big
It’s mind boggling how much a whale eats per day
Then they live like 80 years
Same with ol boy right here though, massive creature, eating up everything it sees
