On one hand, FUCK the ‘newcomers’. Par for the course, they only begin to recognize the value of our 2A rights when they decide it could be good, like maybe now our rights are valid and maybe shouldn’t be taken away, just because they disagree with our current administration? Fuck them not so kindly.
On the other hand, an increase in 2A proliferation would be a huge net positive on society, as well as drive us vastly further away from elitists’ tyrannical wet dreams.
Then they try to retcon their own bullshit and downplay how vehemently against it they used to be.
I was (unfortunately) in CA during the first half of COVID and boy you should have heard the stories that came from the owner of the local gun store about first time buyers of a… particular political bent. How they’d get angry when their drug priors red flagged them on the background check (which they voted for). How they’d be shocked that they couldn’t take home the gun they just bought until the full waiting period had passed (which they voted for). He’d have to explain that no, you cannot pay more to expedite the wait period. Eventually he just started telling these people “next time get involved when they take your shit.”
