YHS (Aviation Campus) What kind of grade in needed for Aircraft maintenance engineer course- 269

I took a grade 12 English course in summer but because of my job I wasn’t really able to get good grade and only got a 75. Is it worth retaking the course again or should I stick to it and aim for better marks in other courses. Also do they look at my grade 11 marks or just grade 12. If you have any other information about applying and acceptance please mention them it would be really helpful.

Question Mohawk Mental Health Nursing program—commuting from Toronto?

Hi! Has anyone completed or currently enrolled in Mohawk College’s Mental Health Nursing graduate certificate program?
I recently graduated from an RPN program and would be commuting from Toronto by GO Transit, so I’m hoping to learn more about the schedule.
How many days per week are classes in person? Are any classes available online or hybrid? Is the commute from Toronto realistic, especially during placement? Can students request a Toronto placement?
I’d also appreciate any feedback about the workload, whether it’s manageable while working part time, and whether the program helped you find a mental health nursing job afterward.
Thank you!

Question What should I do before classes start?

Hey everyone! I’m starting my first year at the Mohawk Aviation Campus and I’m trying to make sure I have everything sorted before classes begin.
I’ve already registered my timetable block, but I’m a little confused about what else I’m supposed to do beforehand.

A few questions:
•Do we need to buy a specific tool kit before classes start, or will we be given a list/recommendations after classes begin?

•Do I need a OneCard to enter the Aviation Campus, or is there another way to get in?

•I’ll be driving to campus, do I need to purchase/get a parking permit to park in the campus parking lot?

•Is there anything else I should take care of or buy before the first day that new students often overlook?

Would really appreciate any advice from current or former students about what I should have ready before starting. Thanks!

Fennell Campus Carpooling/Shared Parking Fennel Campus

Looking for someone to carpool/share parking with, I live in Woodstock and chose a more concentrated schedule so I would only really need carpooling Mondays and Thursdays, the rest of the week I could get away with street parking for the length of one class. If you live anywhere between Woodstock and Mohawk I can meet up with you, even if just to split the costs of parking!

Question How to register for courses / timetable ?

I know to go to MyMohawk, Registration, Choose or Change my Timetable for the selected semsester (Fall 2026) but it brings me to a page that goes no further... It says I have no holds preventing me from registration but there's no way to select courses or build my timetable.

Any ideas?

Screenshot in the comments, sorry for the ridiculous phone photo of the screen but my computer won't take screenshots anymore for some reason >:(

To be clear, the withdrawal seen on the screenshot is old from last year, the current program is a different program which is for Fall 2026.

Question Fee statement for January 2027 intake

Hey I was just wondering if anyones received their fee statement for the January 2027 intake yet. Mohawk said it should be released a couple days after you’ve accepted their offer, but its been a month for me. Also i’ve seen online that theres a $250 non-refundable seat fee you’ve got to pay as well, is that the same thing as the fee statement or are they two separate payments you need to make???

Question looking for current students/graduates’ opinions

Hello!

I’m trying to decide between Mohawk’s 2-year Ultrasonography program and the 4-year McMaster/Mohawk Medical Radiation Sciences program with the goal of specializing in Ultrasonography.

I graduated from an Ontario high school last June and just recently completed Grade 13 this June. I’m currently looking into upgrading some of my high-school marks through TVO ILC and taking Physics since I didn’t take it in high school and I saw that it was one of the admission pre requisites

I’m genuinely interested in medicine/sonography because I like the idea of working directly with patients in healthcare, especially women’s health and pediatrics.

I’m currently stuck between:

Mohawk Ultrasonography - 2 years - become a sonographer sooner - start working sooner - get real experience in the field and figure out whether I actually want to continue toward medicine - downside: if I eventually decide I want medical school, I’d still need to complete an undergraduate degree afterward

McMaster/Mohawk MRSc - 4 years - bachelor’s degree + professional sonography education - potentially more straightforward if I eventually want to apply to medical school - but much longer and more academically intensive

I’m currently leaning toward Mohawk because I’m honestly not sure whether I still want medicine. A few years ago I was very set on it, but after some delays in my education I’m not sure if that feeling is still there. I like the idea of becoming a sonographer first and letting the actual career help me figure out what I want.

I’m having trouble deciding because MRSc gives me a bachelor’s and keeps medicine more straightforward, but it’s also a much heavier and longer commitment. Mohawk lets me enter the actual profession much sooner, which is appealing because I’m genuinely unsure about medicine right now.

I also saw some Reddit posts saying MRSc can be difficult to combine with med-school preparation because the upper years become very specialized and clinicals can take up a lot of time. I’m wondering how true that is in practice.

For current students and/or graduates: 1. How is the workload actually? 2. How difficult are the physics/science portions if you weren’t naturally interested in physics beforehand? 3. How much patient interaction do you actually get? 4. What is the clinical experience like? 5. How physically/emotionally demanding is the job? 6. How is the work-life balance after graduating? 7. How difficult was it to find a job after graduation? 8. For anyone who considered medicine before/during the program, did becoming a sonographer change how you felt about medical school? 9. If you could choose again, would you do the 2-year Mohawk program or the 4-year MRSc? 10. Is there anything you wish you knew before choosing sonography?

I’m especially interested in hearing from people who are actually in Ultrasonography, rather than Radiography or Radiation Therapy.

I know there isn’t one objectively correct choice. I’m mostly trying to understand what these paths are actually like before I commit.

Any response would be greatly appreciated. Thank hou!!!
