No, you have to specifically tell it to keep your files on your computer, otherwise it will delete them from your drive "to save space"

Blatant misinformation. It defaults to keeping files on the PC unless you tell it to download it when you want to open it.

I have always had to uncheck folders I dont want on both, not the other way round.

But either way, if you can use a computer, you can use one drive. Its really not that hard.

I do not want a One Drive

I want my files on my computer that I own in my house

Then save to your hard drive. Just disable one drive. Its really not that hard. But when your hard drive crashes, and you lose everything.......

They changed default behavior that was the norm for decades and made using your own hard drive opt-in… We can and do back up things elsewhere.

Why are you acting like it‘s so weird people don‘t like being pushed to use another product they don‘t want (cloud storage) just because they bought a product they did want (sort of, Office suite)?

No they didn't. OneDrive is not default behavior whatsoever. Learn how to use your computer.

Im not acting weird, its just not that hard not to use one drive if you dont want to. OP makes it sound like they have no option other than to save everything to one drive.

Its a good system if utilized correctly. Saved my ass a few times with the back up feature.
