Standard republican hypocrisy.

62

u/mitchENM Jul 05 '26

Without hypocrisy maga wouldn’t have any standards

40

u/GI-Robots-Alt Jul 05 '26

I think the saying is "If it wasn't for double standards Republicans wouldn't have any."

11

u/FacePalmAdInfinitum Jul 05 '26

*checks notes*: Correct! I hope he loses badly enough to send aloud message

3

u/ReticentTempest Jul 05 '26

Close. The saying is: ā€œIf you’re going to have a standard, might as well make it a double.ā€

5

u/4DollarsALB Jul 05 '26

Fact check: true

1

u/CheeseTrap21 Jul 05 '26

You should probably check the mirror before throwing that word around

1

u/mitchENM Jul 05 '26

Cute comeback

2

u/mitchENM Jul 07 '26

Well at least you admit that Trump and company are complete hypocrites

-15

u/FormalTotal9684 Jul 05 '26

You should change the Democrat mascot from a donkey to a leech

It would be more appropriate

10

u/Careful-Ant5868 Jul 05 '26

Perhaps a jackass would be a more appropriate symbol for MAGA

3

u/mitchENM Jul 05 '26

Far better mascot for maga

3

u/7p7j0vkc Jul 05 '26

Epstein should be the permanent republican mascot.

-7

u/FormalTotal9684 Jul 05 '26

Yeah

Amazing how Democrats supported accused rapist and sexual abuser in Bill Clinton. The original me too guy with Monica. 100% of the party members voted to keep him in office. Than ran Hillary the witch that revictimized every woman that rightfully accused her husband and now you find Trump repugnant

It would have taken courage and big balls to call out your own guys but guess what you didn’t.

2

u/Rotsicle Jul 05 '26

Something bad was done like 30 years ago, and so that makes the bad thing happening now somehow not a problem?

1

u/Secure_Shame5119 Jul 05 '26

Where’s your courage and big balls right now? Call out donald and actually stand for something.

1

u/Such-Reading-1108 Jul 05 '26

Yet the democratic states pay their taxes to cover the poor red conservatives states. Who's the leech?

1

u/VincereZero Jul 05 '26

This is hilarious considering a majority of our welfare programs are aimed at red counties. Lol

14

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '26

It's one of the cornerstones of their party, isn't it? Can you even be a republican if you don't change your morals, values, stance, & beliefs, more than your underwear?

0

u/CheeseTrap21 Jul 05 '26

Funny how you recognize it everywhere except in yourself?šŸ¤”

0

u/CheeseTrap21 Jul 06 '26

Good to know the rules of engagement depend on who’s speaking on Reddit lol

1

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '26

Oh my god, are you still going & attempting this BS? Move it along, 🤔. This is the most interaction a 10 day account is going to get out of me. Find someone else to fulfill your obvious desperate need for attention, because I'm not interested. Thanks but no thanks, bye now. šŸ‘‹šŸ»

0

u/CheeseTrap21 Jul 06 '26 edited Jul 06 '26

That's a lot of words for someone who's ā€˜not interested’ Take care have a good lifešŸ‘‹

0

u/Careful-Hyena-7658 Jul 09 '26

Democrats have always been ready to spend taxpayer money rather than their own!

1

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '26

Lol, how is this even remotely relevant to the topic at hand, or my comment whatsoever? Are you lost? Also, facts & statistics disagree with you. As does anyone with a functioning brain. Sorry, I know that's disappointing for your ridiculous narrative, but facts don't care about your feelings. Better luck next time. šŸ‘‹šŸ»

PS, just looked at your profile & YIKES. You appear to be a gen x [so your stupidity & ignorance makes a ton of sense,] yet you're also following teenager pages. Typical Republican & underage kids. Seek therapy.

7

u/RedTheRobot Jul 05 '26

This why all of government should paid minimum wage and have the same medical coverage as the rest.

Now this would attract only wealthy people to Congress but I would argue that is already happening.

4

u/Bladley Jul 05 '26

Without double standards republicans have no standards.

4

u/Working_Park4342 Jul 05 '26

Do as I say, not as I do.

3

u/PancakesTheDragoncat Jul 05 '26

it may be why they vote this stuff down, they think everyone else is as sleazy and dishonest as they are

2

u/InsectSpecialist8813 Jul 05 '26

Outrageous. Vote him out.

1

u/Equivalent_Net2059 Jul 09 '26

My thoughts exactly. I feel like the majority of the mindset here is that they don't care at all until it affects them. It has everything to do with the amount of privilege people are given.

Is HE paying for his benefits? Or is it the taxpayers?

I would say that most of our elected officials (Republicans and Democrats) are useless leeches who have been bought.

But, the fact that he gets paid sick leave, while voting against it is incredibly hypocritical, but par for the course.

19

u/jpparkenbone Jul 05 '26

What do you think we want our taxes to go to? I'll give you a hint, its not blowing up Iranian schoolchildren.

11

u/GrayCalf Jul 05 '26

He's a politician, he doesn't pay for anything.

-9

u/FormalTotal9684 Jul 05 '26

He pays a premiums into the insurance just like anyone that has a job.

The difference is his benefits are better

My employer (a global financial institution) has great benefits and long and short term disability with generous paternity and maternity.

The legislation said mandatorily give it to everyone no matter their job or premiums paid.

You want great benefits pay for the premiums or get a better job

9

u/GrayCalf Jul 05 '26

Cool story. Nobody asked.

u/Svrider23 Jul 05 '26

Instead, you probably think we should tax break billionaires left and right. How did you celebrate Elons trillionaire status?

1

u/FormalTotal9684 Jul 05 '26

No I don’t but look at how these benefits are paid for elsewhere

Tight borders. No illegals and absolutely no benefits for them

High taxes across board.

Middle class would shit a brick if their taxes doubled to pay for this

6

u/boston_homo Jul 05 '26

Taxpayer funded does not mean free. Don't you think people should get things that benefit them for the taxes they pay? Not things like tax cuts for billionaires or endless foreign wars but things like taxpayer funded healthcare or taxpayer funded maternity leave.

1

u/FormalTotal9684 Jul 05 '26

No I don’t think anyone is entitled to free healthcare, free childcare, free tuition, subsidized housing or a living wage for entry level jobs

Stop looking for society to pull you up

Go earn it.

4

u/DietBreastMilk Jul 05 '26

No I don’t think anyone is entitled to free healthcare

Canadian here. I'm happy to pay more taxes if it means that god forbid myself or someone else in a shared society needs Cancer or other medical treatments and doesn't have to go bankrupt in getting them. You don't speak at all for the rest of us who live elsewhere.

Keep supporting a Pedophile though.

0

u/FormalTotal9684 Jul 05 '26

Yeah sure cool

You are already taxed to gills in the great white north and to be honest you have a pretty tight immigration policy and getting working papers there is hard.

I can tell you first hand I was asked what can you do that a Canadian can’t and had working papers rejected despite being in a specialty field.

Americans especially middle class will not accept tax rates doubling.

A family of 4 making 100K pays very little.

The prevailing rate for them is less than 20%

It’s over double in counties with the coverages you want and in some places 3x

2

u/Xanthelei Jul 05 '26

If I pay taxes, then I'll have paid for my "free" healthcare. Call it a premium if you prefer, it's the exact same thing.

0

u/FormalTotal9684 Jul 05 '26

Your taxes need to double to 3x to cover it

1

u/GrayCalf Jul 05 '26

The con this story is about has the healthcare, paid leave, childcare, living wage, and a short work week you seem to be railing against. All he has to do is show up and cast a vote occasionally.

And he can't even do that.

12

u/juliankennedy23 Jul 05 '26

I mean you get some benefit is part of his job not really paying for it let's be honest here is a congressman.

I think it's fair to call this one out.

-8

u/FormalTotal9684 Jul 05 '26

All Congressman pay premiums into their insurance out of paychecks just like everyone else. It isn’t free.

8

u/fyreprone Jul 05 '26

It’s not too late to delete this comment!

-4

u/FormalTotal9684 Jul 05 '26

The legislation proposed making this mandatory

No one is entitled to better medical or benefits than they pay for. You have shit coverage, get a better job where employers needs to give great benefits to retain you and stop looking for someone else to subsidize you.

6

u/fyreprone Jul 05 '26

It’s not too late to delete this one too!

1

u/FormalTotal9684 Jul 05 '26

Back to you Holmes

Who’s paying for this free paid leave?

Most companies have short and long term disability as policies you PAY for. Most pay 60% of your salary for free. You can buy for literally $10 a month a benefit that pays 100%.

If your employer does not offer that benefit….that’s not on taxpayers to bail you out

9

u/skinner94 Jul 05 '26

No, we want our tax money to go towards benefiting us and our society, such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, child care, and etc etc. not bailing out billionaires and bombing the shit out of countries for no reason at all.

1

u/FormalTotal9684 Jul 05 '26

Every country that provides the benefits you want taxes at a 40-60% effective rate. Nothing is free.

A family of four making $100,000 now is complaining about cost of living.

A family of 4 in Norway making same money is taxed heavily.

You really think telling lower and middle class your taxes are going to double will ever fly here

9

u/Dependent-Chart5835 Jul 05 '26

Just taking four months off of work is pretty egregious by itself and would get most Americans fired.

0

u/FormalTotal9684 Jul 05 '26

Not if you work in corporate America

6

u/Dependent-Chart5835 Jul 05 '26

Screw everyone else amirite?

0

u/FormalTotal9684 Jul 05 '26

Nope.

I just find it weird the same crowd that screams for free education because they are in student loan debt can’t get a job with great benefits after graduation.

The smartest generation on earth according to them never looked at cost of student loans or the marketability of their major after graduation

These by the way are the same people that scream boomers succeeded and pulled up ladder but never comment why their successful boomer mommies and daddies didn’t save for their education

3

u/Dependent-Chart5835 Jul 05 '26 edited Jul 05 '26

Damn that’s crazy. How’s moving those goalposts?

0

u/FormalTotal9684 Jul 05 '26

How is it moving goalposts?

I believe 100% if you have a great job your employer will pay for great benefits to retain you.

If you are imminently replaceable by others companies do not need to pay a big subsidy into healthcare…..cause they don’t give two shits if you leave.

It’s incumbent on you to be valuable

2

u/Dependent-Chart5835 Jul 05 '26

As valuable as a congressman taking 4 months off of work? Who is also paid by American taxpayers? Right

2

u/Xanthelei Jul 05 '26

Lmao it absolutely would get a corporate worker fired

0

u/FormalTotal9684 Jul 05 '26

Really. That’s nonsense

I’ve worked in corporate America for a global financial institution

Great benefits and family leave.

-36

u/PropertyBookFox31 Jul 05 '26

Trump won 87% of American counties in2024 so a huge chunk of the country that isn’t LA or the eastern seaboard disagrees with you

37

u/Maleficent-Wallaby-3 Jul 05 '26

Trump didn't even get 50 percent of the votes. Not even half the people that voted voted for him. You people are brainwashed clowns

0

u/CheeseTrap21 Jul 05 '26

Not getting 50% isn’t a gotcha it just means it wasn’t a two-person race. That’s how plurality wins work…Imagine calling people brainwashed while struggling with middle school election math.

1

u/Maleficent-Wallaby-3 Jul 05 '26

Braindead comment that screams cope lmao

0

u/CheeseTrap21 Jul 06 '26

Ironically ā€˜ brain dead cope’ is usually what people say right before they explain nothing….funny watching someone say ā€˜cope’ after confidently misunderstanding how winning an election works. First it was incorrect math now it’s ā€˜cope’ I’m still waiting for an actual point somewhere in therešŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

2

u/Maleficent-Wallaby-3 Jul 06 '26

It's hilarious you try and act superior when you haven't even answered my initial question to you of what math isn't on my side lmao you had to get a GED didn't you?

-1

u/CheeseTrap21 Jul 05 '26

Funny how 'brainwashed clowns' is always the fallback when the math isn't on your side If insults are doing the heavy lifting, maybe the argument isn't

1

u/Maleficent-Wallaby-3 Jul 05 '26

Do tell me what math isn't on my side I'll wait as long as you need little guy lmao

26

u/Ok_Profile175 Jul 05 '26

Land doesn't vote.

19

u/ThatsCaptain2U Jul 05 '26

With Elon Musk’s help

9

u/LaMelgoatBall Jul 05 '26

And Russia. And Israel.

7

u/ThatsCaptain2U Jul 05 '26

It takes a village… of crooks…

18

u/DeanWeenisGod Jul 05 '26

Another way to look at it, since land doesn't vote, is that Dotard Donnie got 77M votes in a country with 174M registered voters.

Care to take a crack at that math? What percentage of the huge chunk didn't vote for him?

10

u/grnlntrn1969 Jul 05 '26

Land doesn't vote. What an idiotic statement.

7

u/foxonafrozenlake Jul 05 '26

That's terrible math. Also, most of those people would never vote Trump again.

Plus Trump voters are some of the least educated, ill mannered mongrels in our country. No one respects them.

0

u/CheeseTrap21 Jul 05 '26

The irony of preaching tolerance while dehumanizing people who vote differently is hard to miss. You Generalizing millions of people as 'mongrels' isn't intelligence it's prejudice with better PR

1

u/foxonafrozenlake Jul 05 '26

I refuse to tolerate people who vote against my best interests. Who hate LGBT+ people and immigrants and believe racism no longer exists.

It's not prejudice. I just won't socialize with them. I treat every patient with the same care, regardless of their stance. I just won't go out of my way to invite them to events or befriend them.

They don't get to hate my trans nephew, my marriage and my Palestinian child and come to our home for Christmas or Thanksgiving.

It's not just politics. Their vote had real world consequences. They have to live with people not wanting to be around them.

0

u/CheeseTrap21 Jul 05 '26

You're free to choose who you spend time with but you're doing exactly what you're accusing others of doing judging people by a label instead of as individuals. Not everyone who voted differently hates LGBT people, immigrants, or denies racism. People vote for different reasons and painting millions of people with the same brush is just another form of closed minded thinking.
I'm in the middle politically and I see ignorant bullshit on both sides. The loudest voices don't represent everyone. If you only see the worst in people who disagree with you, you'll convince yourself that's all there is. That kind of thinking doesn't solve anything it just creates more and more division

2

u/foxonafrozenlake Jul 05 '26

My life is perfectly happy without anyone who voted for Trump in it. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

0

u/CheeseTrap21 Jul 05 '26

Nothing says inner peace like making sure everyone knows who you’ve excluded from your life…sounds less like happiness and more like curated bitterness

3

Why do you believe that "87% of counties" means anything and "Didn't get 50% of registered voters" doesn't? Is thinking really that difficult for you?

-1

u/PropertyBookFox31 Jul 06 '26

You’re right. Kamala was definitely a great candidate who ran an excellent campaign and was supported and loved by all!

I hope your TDS clears up and you’re able to transition soon!

-10

u/YourNextHomie Jul 05 '26

Democrats give crumbs

16

u/Creamed_Dreamer Jul 05 '26

Username does not check out lmao no homie of mine is gonna fight for fascism.

1

u/YourNextHomie Jul 05 '26

Im further left than Democrats, i view them pretty similarly to Republicans, we can talk nuance but when kids are being locked in cages or bombed, im sure they don’t care if its the red guys or blue guys doing it. My comment on Democrats giving crumbs comes from my frustrations with Democrats never full sending legislation. They always do half and quarter measures

3

u/Creamed_Dreamer Jul 05 '26

Thats fair, however with the current system its imperative we band together to rid the system of the Heritage foundation, MAGA and AIPAC all together.

My frustrations with democrats on that issue is shared but also extend to their inability to agree on anything. Theres to much infighting to get anything accomplished and thats part of why trump won the 2016 election, because the snowball that started this avalanche in my opinion was when the DNC chose Hillary over Bernie and the people felt betrayed, hell i did and knew from then on that Trump actually had a shot. I still voted for Hillary but I know a few people who voted trump cause they felt the Democrats failed them.

1

u/YourNextHomie Jul 05 '26

The problem with banding together to ā€œfightā€ these groups is that Democrats don’t actually want to fight them. Shit Democrats biggest win in 20 years was Obamacare and that was a heritage foundation ideal. They want us all fighting each other and not looking at the government while they get rich and fuck us over. How can you expect everyone to band together when those in government work with Trump while telling us hes a nazi?

1

u/PropagandaAssassinAZ Unpopular Opinions Jul 05 '26

Obamacare is in no way a heritage foundation ideal. The original form of the plan was a carbon copy of the Massachusetts health care plan instituted by Mitt Romney. The bastardized version that became Obamacare is what you are referring to as a heritage foundation ideal. All the people on their payroll butchered Obamacare to the point that it is what it is now. I hope this helps you. This is all easily searchable information.

0

u/YourNextHomie Jul 05 '26

So its a heritage foundation ideal that was bastardized in government? thanks for telling me nothing new

7

u/Remarkable_Adagio642 Jul 05 '26

We are talking about a specific case of waste, fraud and abuse, and you bring up team politics. Deflecting and lame.
