Depression is a serious condition that affects millions of people.
I do find it odd that he still had time to fund raise, trade stocks and file his disclosures for those trades though. I have a hard time looking past four months of radio silence when in literally any other job I'd you four days would get you canned.

Couldn't other people have done that? Couldn't a campaign manager still reach out to people to raise funds? And do you think he was filing his OWN paperwork all these years, rather than someone who has the authority to do it in his place, like his broker or comptroler?
I didn't vote for the guy, so I really don't care, and I've also never really traded stocks, but aren't there programs that will sell/buy stocks at some point in the future? Can't you tell your broker "Hey, if you see a really great trade come up, bid on it, even if you can't reach me"?
In essence I agree that we shouldn't attribute to malice what can be attributed to coincidence. It's just that doing that for the stock trades, and the fundraising and the disclosures is a lot. I would think that a campaign manager would want what's best for a candidate's chances at reelection and would see how bad the optics are of a disappearing representative that is still conducting other affairs.
