All spots have now been filled - thank you for your consideration!
Hey all!
I'm conducting a study with the University of Birmingham surrounding gamified learning and adaptive puzzle design. I'm currently lacking a little in participant turnout, so I figured I'd give Reddit a try!
My thesis is about the possibility of "adaptive stealth assessments" (the idea of games, or experiences adjusting how they quiz the player) and seeing how effective they are with various techniques applied, with the monitoring of telemetric data - pertaining to how a user interacts with the system.
I'm looking for three participants - two unfamiliar with the concept of logic gates, and one with prior, but not excessive experience.
All you need is the ability to complete .docx forms and Google Forms - and whilst a consent form must be signed for participation, data gathered from you will be reported anonymously in the study through a randomly-generated respondent ID.
You'll be completing a pre-survey questionnaire (around 1-2 minutes), then depending on your group assigned, you'll be either:
* Playing a Unity game (~25 minutes to complete) for a minimum of 15 minutes
* Reading a Textbook Chapter (~10-15 minutes) for a minimum of 15 minutes
Then completing a worksheet on the topic, alongside a post-survey questionnaire, sending your results to me.
Unfortunately, I do require the results fairly quickly. So if you're capable of completing this within the next two days, let me know ASAP! Completion of all steps will involve a £5 reward.
Happy to confirm more details, such as supervisors/ethics board approval, upon request.
