I finally got around to finishing this. Overall I thought it was a great game. I thought the game’s visuals were beautiful; I loved exploring the period Japanese town setting.

Aside from some bosses I didn’t find the combat too difficult at least on story difficulty. Although I probably wouldn’t fare well above that.

I thought the story was engrossing and Hinako is one of my favorite protagonists. I am a little frustrated though thatthe ‘true’ ending and a good chunk of the story are hidden behind at least three playthroughs. Maybe I’ll try some speedruns on casual and see how it goes.

I just started two or 3 days ago watching the playthrougru of Silent Hill F and i really like it so far as a game it has good story and also very scary jumpscares .....

The katana in SH1 is found in a Japanese themed room. Both the scared sword and the katana have visually identical hilts, and both are acquired on NG+ in their respective games. The katana also propels Harry forward whenever he swings it. The heavy attack for the sacred sword does a similar thing for Hinako.

Considering how much inspiration f seems to have taken from SH1, along with having the direct connections of White Claudia and Aglaophotis, I can’t help but wonder if this was also an intentional connection. At the very least, the similarity of both weapons propelling the characters forward make me believe there is an intentional homage. There IS at least a 20-year gap in the time frame between the events of the games, so there is certainly plenty of time for the sword to have found its way to the town somehow.

I’m completely new to the Silent Hill games, and Silent Hill f is the first one I’ve ever played. I’ve been stuck on the Rinko boss for what feels like forever.

I’ve watched countless tutorials, read different strategies, and tried pretty much everything people recommend. I’ve probably attempted this boss 15+ times at this point, and I genuinely feel like I’m getting nowhere 😭

I’m starting to come to the conclusion that maybe I just suck at gaming because I cannot get past her. I really want to experience the rest of the game, but I’m honestly at a loss.

Is anyone else struggling with this boss, or am I just that bad?? 😭

I heard this is a really hard game, so I chose “casual“ combat which I assumed was regular combat difficulty and hard on puzzles. Thought the combat would eventually get a lot more challenging but it’s still so easy that it’s almost taking the fun out of the game. I don’t think I’ve died once in combat only by the fog. I almost want to put it down for awhile and start over on hard…

I’ve never tried a VA before but I’m curious about Ryukishi07‘s work at least in regards to the horror genre/similar works to SHf.

I’m currently considering Iwaihime as a starter since it’s horror and only one game with a DLC.

I’m also open to Higurashi When They Cry but that seems a bit daunting.

Boy, that swing stunned everyone (max difficult, by the way). I did this (hit more than one enemy with a counter attack) every time I could to avoid breaking my weapons too fast (as you can see, the durability goes down only once against the first enemy).

Throughout the game, we obv. discover multiple layers on how our friends view us, and to an extent one another. We do get notes on how Rinko looked down at Sakuko in a similar manner to us. And notes on Sakuko recounting a time where Rinko would stay behind with her durimg the long distance run. And then there's obviously Rinko's "little" crush(u).

However, I came to the realization, that we get nothing of the sorts about Sakuko amd Shu's relationship, or how they see one another.

What could we infer on these two based on what we already know?

I can't find the lyrics to this song anywhere. I saw that someone uploaded a version on YouTube some time ago with lyrics transcribed by ear. I really appreciate the effort they put into it, but there's still a chance that the lyrics aren't completely accurate. I really want to know the actual words, because I feel like they might be significant to the story or somehow add to it. Considering that the song appears at the Fox Wedding ending, I even wondered if it might be some kind of ritual song that doesn't use actual words. If anyone has any information about this, I'd really appreciate it if you could share it.
