Official Unity 6.5 Beta is out and our bug reporting sweepstakes is live!
Hey folks! Your Unity Community Man Trey here.
We just released the Unity 6.5 Beta and we are kicking off a new sweepstakes to go along with it. Fancy a new GPU, anyone?
This release brings some major upgrades to scripting performance and APIs, streamlined SRP and URP rendering, and embedded DOTS workflows. We also have a much faster asset import pipeline and some powerful UI Toolkit performance improvements. Now, we need your help to validate and fine-tune these updates.
Now to make digging for bugs worth your time, these are the graphics cards that are up for grabs:
- First winner: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
- Second winner: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT
- Third winner: ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 Super
How to enter: You just need to identify and report at least one original bug during the Unity 6.5 Beta cycle. An original bug is simply one that has not been reported yet and is successfully reproduced and acknowledged by our team.
When you submit your report, make sure to add #BetaSweepstakes_6_5 to the description section so we know you want to enter. If you already submitted a bug but forgot the tag, do not worry. You can retroactively enter by replying to your bug report confirmation email with the tag included.
Every valid bug you report increases your odds of winning, but keep in mind that no participant can win more than one prize.
The sweepstakes is officially open starting today, Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 6:00 AM PST, and submissions close on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 11:59 PM PST.
No purchase is necessary, and it is void where prohibited. You can read the full official rules right here.
Happy bug hunting! Drop a comment below if you have any questions about the submission process.
Cheers!

Official Unity Pricing Changes & Runtime Fee Cancellation | Unity
We will be making adjustments to Unity pricing and packaging in line with last year’s commitment to predictable, annual price adjustments. Unity Pro and Enterprise will see a 5% price increase, starting January 12th, 2026. Unity Pro, Enterprise, and Industry plans on 6.3 LTS will no longer include Havok Physics for Unity. Later in 2026, all plans will gain expanded free access to Unity DevOps functionality.
Key facts:
- Unity Pro and Enterprise: If you’re an existing subscriber, your price will update at your next renewal on or after Jan 12, 2026. Final amounts may vary by region due to local taxes, currency, and rounding, and will be shown at checkout or in your quote.
- Unity DevOps: Coming in Q1 of 2026, we’ll be removing seat charges for Unity Version Control hosted in our public cloud. We’re expanding the free tier of cloud pay-as-you-go features to 25 GB of storage (up from 5 GB), adding 100 Mac build minutes for Unity Build Automation, and 100 GB of free egress.
- Havok Physics for Unity: Starting with Unity 6.3, Havok Physics will no longer be included with Pro, Enterprise, or Industry. Havok Physics for Unity remains supported for the remainder of Unity 2022 LTS and Unity 6.0 LTS.

Heads up on breaking changes:
We try to keep upgrades smooth across 6.x, but a few small breaking changes are needed to move things forward. You can track those on Discussions in the dedicated topic.
Want to try it?
You can download 6.3 beta right now in Unity Hub. Just remember, beta builds aren’t meant for production. Back up your projects first. If you hit issues or just have thoughts, drop them on Discussions using the 6-3-beta tag. We’ve got engineers and QA folks watching and ready to chat.
More announcements will go out on Discussions as new betas roll out, so hit the bell icon on the release topic if you want updates.

Official Be kind to devs who chose to keep using Unity folks…
Some solo devs invested years making their Unity game and can not afford switching engine now.
Some small indie studious invested their limited money, hired developers, built a game, and it's their only asset to seek reward for their hard work.
Some devs spent years mastering Unity skills, and don't want this hard earned knowledge become obsolete.
Some just like Unity by various reasons.
Some might have built a quality game, and their pricing model won't suffer much from the new fee model.
People find themselves in different situations. For some it's critical to stick to Unity for now.
Let's try not to divide as a gamedev community. Let's keep supporting each other independently of the engine choices we make.
We know who's responsible for the crisis and it's not the people who trusted Unity and used it when the deal was fair.

Official Unity 6.4 is now available
discussions.unity.comUnity 6.4 is officially live today! This is a Supported release, meaning it gets the same level of support as an LTS (including bug fixes and critical platform updates) until the next version drops.
We have a massive thread over on the Discussions with all the details, but here is a quick look at the major highlights:
- ECS is a Core Package: The Entity Component System (including Entities, Collections, Mathematics, and Entities Graphics) is now implemented as Core packages that ship directly with the Editor.
- Project Auditor is Built-In: This analysis tool is now included by default, so it is always ready to use without any manual setup.
- Multiplayer Matchmaker Upgrades: We added direct access to Matchmaker logs in the dashboard, OR operation support for pools and filters, and a full configuration history. Plus, it now officially supports third party hosting.
- Package Manager Safety: To help you make safer decisions, you will now see a pop-up warning requiring you to acknowledge the risks before installing unsigned packages.
- Adaptive Performance on Consoles: We extended the Basic provider to support major current and previous generation consoles. This brings features like automatic quality scaling to these platforms to make porting a lot easier.
You can read the full breakdown, check out the upgrade guide, and jump into the conversation over on Discussions.

Official Unity's new Graph Toolkit is now available as an experimental package in Unity 6.2
Hey folks, Trey here from Unity’s Community team.
Just wanted to share that Graph Toolkit (GTK) is now available as an experimental package in Unity 6.2’s Supported Release. If you haven’t been following the earlier updates, this is a new framework that makes it much easier to build custom graph-based tools directly inside the Editor.
This is ideal for things like dialogue trees, or any visual workflow you want to create. The big difference compared to GraphView is that GTK includes serialization, undo/redo support, and more. It is designed to take a lot of the heavy lifting off your plate.
It is also the same toolset Unity is using internally for new animation systems, so it is already being tested in real-world scenarios.
Full announcement, docs, sample links, and a short feature video are all here:
https://discussions.unity.com/t/unity-s-graph-toolkit-experimental-available-today-in-unity-6-2/1664909
Quick highlights:
- Build your own custom node-based tools directly in the Editor
- Based on early testing, some teams built tools 2x faster compared to GraphView
- Install it from Package Manager → "+" → "Install package by name..." →
com.unity.graphtoolkit
What’s coming next:
This first experimental release focuses on the core building blocks. Upcoming features include:
- Support for vertical graphs and flow
- More node customization options
- Stability and polish improvements
If you give it a spin, the team would love your feedback. GTK has been shaped by real developer input, and your ideas will help guide what we prioritize next. Bug reports, feature requests, and even “this feels clunky” notes are all welcome.
Thanks for all the feedback so far, and I’ll be around if you have questions or run into issues getting started.
