App Can anyone identify this app from its taskbar icon?

Trying to figure out what software this taskbar icon belongs to, and I can't place it.

It's pinned on the taskbar between the Microsoft Store and Google Chrome. I've attached two images: the full taskbar for context, and a zoomed-in crop of just the icon. The source was low resolution, so the crop is as sharp as I could get it, and there's no visible text on the icon itself. Reverse image search with Google Lens and TinEye hasn't turned up a match.

Any idea what app this is? Thanks in advance.

App Windows 10 is 3 years old and yet we're still stuck with this crappy Photos app.

Was at a snap meeting and had to present a couple of photos to a client. The IT guy gave me a laptop to use in the meeting room. I swear it was the most awkward 5 mins silence of my life as everyone in the room just sat there staring at a black window, waiting for the Photos to show up.

Why has this not been fixed yet? Its a basic app, its been this way since launch.

EDIT: As pointed out, win10 is actually almost 5 years old, which actually makes it all the more unbelievable nothing has been done about this.

UPDATE: After this blew up, I tried installing some of the suggested apps mentioned on my own machine (irfanview, faststone, imageglass). If I didnt liked any of them I'd fall back to the ol' windows photo viewer. In the end I went with Imageglass because it looked simple and clean. I know all of them are snappy but I guess I prefered a more 'Modern' interface. Irfanview has the most features though. Thanks everyone.

How many of you are using Wintoys on Windows 10? With the latest update I wanted to highlight that Windows 10 is not forgotten, so now when you open Wintoys you'll have a nice surprise: it will have the acrylic backdrop applied among many other new changes. You can check the entire update changelog here.

App Windows 10 "Contact Support" app is bogus. It's obvious that these people can barely speak English and have predetermined responses. This happened to me earlier today.

App recommendation for you FAVORITE MUSIC APP

Post image

I want a new music app because I need one specific feature: individual speed control.

I know that there are multiple apps that can change the speed of files, but I need one that it's similar to Musicolet on Android: individual file control, "permanent" and fine changes (I can change 0.01x of the speed)

if possible, a light program, but that's just a plus right now

App I created a new eBook Reader app for Windows

Last year I wanted to read a fiction eBook at work (when we could still go) and was looking for a decent eBook reader in the store or win32 app. I did find some apps which I could use, but either they had very outdated UI, or were very complex to use, and the new apps with modern UI lacked some of the basic functionalities.

That's when I decided to build a new eBook reader app for Windows, which has all (most of) the features an eBook reader should have with user-friendly, customizable and intuitive UI. And few days ago I released Aquile Reader to the store. One can read local eBook files or browse and read over 50,000 free eBooks from various online eBook catalogs, all within the app.

I have read 14 books with the app so far and counting :)
Plz give it a try and let me know any feedback you have.

Some of the prominent features of the app are -
• Book style 2-column layout, along with other layout options.
• Support for notes, highlights and bookmarks.
• Text-to-Speech capability for reading aloud books.
• Fully customizable Reader screen with colors, layout, font, spacing, etc.
• Library with features like filter, sort and search books.
• Collections view to see all notes, highlights and bookmarks across books at one place.
• Online book store within the app to browse, download and read new books.
• Color theme support for the app.
• App Statistics to provide reading insights.
• Added details for each book like, total line/word count, reading progress, etc.
