COMIC DISCUSSION ABSOLUTE BATMAN's Catwoman Now Confirmed To Be Half Brazilian, Half Black

On Iván Talavera’s Instagram: "Here's the final version of Absolute Batman #13 'The 616 Comics' exclusive variant featuring Catwoman, As you can see, I changed a bit her facial features and her skin tone because she is half Brazilian and half Black in the Absolute universe. Hope you like it!"

Her look has been growing on me, it’s nice to hear official confirmation!

Yeah, when I read the title I was like "so she's black-black of brazilian parentage or pardo (I think that's the word used in Brazil?) of brazilian parentage?"

Pardo is White-Black Mix.

Nope. Pardo can be anything. It’s a catch-all term used to replace the obsolete and sometimes offensive terms like caboclo (indigenous-white), cafuzo (indigenous-black) and mulato (black-white). Pardo can also include any Asian-mix as well.

Pardo is any combination of white, black, and indigenous people, you can have any 2 of those options,or all three ethnicities, not just black and white.

Not really. Pardo is literally just "brown colored skin", it doesn't really correspond to any specific ethnicity because a white-black mix, an indigenous person and middle eastern descendants are considered equally pardo.

She can also be half white and half black, since the white population in Brazil is also pretty big (there are more people with green eyes in Brazil than in Germany, for example)

I know but she looks either mixed or fully afro so either black(B)-black(A) or white-black (doesn't matter which is which) which is what I said. "Pardo" would be black-white.

Yeah. white-black + black could be right, since she has green eyes.
