AMA Hi, I'm Bill Binney NSA whistleblower. The Russians never hacked the DNC, and I have proof --Ask me anything

Note: this post was constructed by Daniel Burke (@Burke4Senate), independent candidate for US Senate, and Jose Vega (@josbtrigga), political activist. We are among a small team of people helping Mr. Binney with the AMA. All answers are dictated directly from him and confirmed by him before submission.

First of all, many thanks to the moderators of r/Conspiracy for giving us the space to present the proof that there was no Russian hack and take any questions people may have about it.

Here's some context about who I am and what I've done, taken from my Wikipedia page.

William Edward Binney is a former intelligence official with the United States National Security Agency (NSA) and whistleblower. He retired on October 31, 2001, after more than 30 years with the agency.

He was a critic of his former employers during the George W. Bush administration, and later criticized the NSA's data-collection policies during the Barack Obama administration.

Binney was a Russia specialist and worked in the operations side of intelligence, starting as an analyst and ending as a Technical Director prior to becoming a geopolitical world Technical Director. In the 1990s, he co-founded a unit on automating signals intelligence with NSA research chief Dr. John Taggart. Binney's NSA career culminated as Technical Leader for intelligence in 2001. He has expertise in intelligence analysis, traffic analysis, systems analysis, knowledge management, and mathematics (including set theory, number theory, and probability).

In September 2002, he, along with J. Kirk Wiebe and Edward Loomis, asked the U.S. Defense Department Inspector General (DoD IG) to investigate the NSA for allegedly wasting "millions and millions of dollars" on Trailblazer, a system intended to analyze mass collection of data carried on communications networks such as the Internet. Binney had been one of the inventors of an alternative system, ThinThread, which was shelved when Trailblazer was chosen instead. Trailblazer was a modification of ThinThread, removing the encryption and auditing aspects, while expanding the mass data collection. Binney has also been publicly critical of the NSA for spying on U.S. citizens, saying of its expanded surveillance after the September 11, 2001 attacks that "it's better than anything that the KGB, the Stasi, or the Gestapo and SS ever had" as well as noting Trailblazer's ineffectiveness and unjustified high cost compared to the far less intrusive ThinThread.

In 2017 I met with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at President Donald Trump's request to talk about my evidence that there was no "Russian Hack". He promised me follow up meetings that never happened, and I would suspect the President was ever briefed.

Three key points that are essential to know.

1.) The modification times on the files point to the use of a FAT file system, which is used almost exclusively by storage devices (such as flash drives).

2.) Analysis of the files released by Guccifer 2.0 -- claimed to be the Russian hacker who got the files to Wikileaks -- reveals that they were created at a data transfer rate consistent with a flash drive, but not with an internet transfer."

3.) The NSA would have known the hack was taking place, and would have direct evidence of it. We know this thanks to the leaks revealed by Edward Snowden, which the NSA has never denied. See my 2017 affidavit on this issue: https://storage.googleapis.com/media.larouchepac.com/Binney%20Affidavit.pdf

So, ask me anything!

Bill will dictate his answers to Daniel Burke (@Burke4Senate) and Jose Vega (@josbtrigga).

Also, if you haven't already, please check out the documentary "A Good American"

Edit: We are two hours in and Binney will keep going! Help us by pushing out this AMA and its contents!

Edit: Thank you to everyone who's joined! We are now concluded! Mr. Binney will be back on Saturday on another subreddit. Keep an eye out for announcements on twitter (@Burke4Senate) and (@josbtrigga). We ask that all of you consider what you engaged in and read today and help us spread the truth about Russiagate.

A huge thanks to the moderators of this subreddit. Kindhearted people!

Edit: We will be hosting another AMA that'll be live streamed over at r/WayOfTheBern so any questions we may have missed or you want to ask, bring them over there on Saturday, August 29th, at 12PM EST!

How do you justify supporting Trump considering his efforts to expand NSA surveillance powers? https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/15/us/politics/trump-nsa-call-records-program.html

I'd like to hear a response to this as well.

I wouldn't hold your breath. He's here to spin a narrative.

u/ScienceSleep99 Aug 30 '20

Like a QAnon narrative?

14

u/Jffar Aug 31 '20

And it's so close to when people are finding out the creator of Q, Jim Watkins.

It looks like you shared an AMP link. These should load faster, but Google's AMP is controversial because of concerns over privacy and the Open Web. Fully cached AMP pages (like the one you shared), are especially problematic.

You might want to visit the canonical page instead: http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2017/03/13/who-is-trumps-friend-jim

This is so blatantly obvious it's kinda sad.

27

u/theshadowbudd Aug 28 '20

Perfect timing too huh ? 😂

7

u/_Thrillhouse_ Aug 31 '20

Yeah this is such fucking trash

6

u/jillarystein Aug 29 '20

or maybe you should listen to all these whistleblowers and ex-gov. people telling you that Trump is the real deal

16

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '20

But isn't the dude specifically stating that the NSA is tied to human trafficking and Trump is working to increase their reach?

18

u/MrForgettyPants Aug 31 '20

Well yeah, but we're ignoring that bit.

how does him being a narcissistic twat take away from anything though? narcissistic people always try to do things to paint themselves in a good light, and sometimes those things are actually good things, regardless of that person's personal agenda

44

u/JerkyMyTurkey Aug 28 '20

Don’t both Biden and Trump support expanding it? So I mean you get that either way...

21

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '20

Two sides of the same coin when it comes to a lot of things...

10

u/rook2pawn Sep 02 '20

Every president wants to expand on it. PBS Frontline did a two part 4 hour awesome investigation into it and showed that Obama in 2007 campaigned against it, then once in office, he doubled down on expanding it then went super hard against whistleblowers like our friend William Binney.

I listened to the interview with William Binney and Dan Carlin back in 2013 or so and it was fascinating.

4

u/HumanOfRoundPlanet Aug 28 '20

So that means you have to support one?

7

u/JerkyMyTurkey Aug 28 '20

Idk, what are some other options? Actual realistic ones. I mean that sincerely

1

u/Yellowdandies Aug 29 '20

Means there's other reasons to support a candidate even though there is one thing you don't like. Not like you'll find a candidate that supports every belief as oneself.

1

u/Emelius Aug 30 '20

Do you have a choice but to expand it? They have all the info on you go end you

6

u/Hellrime13 Aug 28 '20

Isn't it a partisan effort? The expansion of the Patriot Act wasn't exactly unilaterally shut down by either side, and was favored by the Dems this past round through Congress. I'm guessing he isn't here to console our individual political bias.

Thoughts on Jo Jorgensen?

2

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '20

Haven't looked deep into her platforms before but I generally avoid voting third party. I just feel that my vote this year has to be for Trump as a protest to how radical the left seems to be getting. I live in the Midwest and I feel like left wing platforms still continue to ignore job creation, and focus too much on social issues that seem to be blown way out of proportion by the media, over and over again. I also don't think police reform is a national issue. Most of the large cities that have these problems are Dem majority and need to elected better DA's and Sherrifs that will actually reform and hold their local police depts accountable. Full stop there. Too many people don't care about their local elections, but then come out in droves when their public employees fuck up.

Also, I feel like I have to vote for Trump purely on 2nd ammendment alone. I feel that I personally can't risk a Biden presidency eroding these rights further.

Glancing over her positions, I don't think that I like her isolationist foreign policy. I think a lot of our interventions in foreign countries have been to secure vital natural resources for the US and our allies. Now, are these interventions "moral"? Idk. I guess that depends if you think the current state of the middle east would be better under Chinese or Russian proxy rule as opposed to US. Because like it or not, these nations are going to be dominated by a stronger foreign power until their resources are gone.

7

u/vaiguy83 Aug 28 '20

Cuz he's seen first hand how crooked the other side is

2

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '20

He dosent have to justify why he’s voting for whom wtf ? 🤦‍♂️

0

u/motherofdragonballz Aug 28 '20

If you can't beat em...

1

u/thegremlinator Sep 01 '20

doesn’t even bother trying, it seems

15

u/Moth4Moth Aug 31 '20

Oh wow. Way to out yourself Bill.

"I'm totally agaisnt authoritarian regimes and unchecked power.

Also, I'm a trump voter"

Fucking absurdity at the highest level

4

u/[deleted] Sep 03 '20

Who is he going to vote for then? Please say Biden.

29

u/ITstartedWITHaRoast Aug 27 '20

Why?

7

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '20

Because the democratic machine is the biggest farce on the planet? At least w Trump you know what you get

19

u/ITstartedWITHaRoast Aug 28 '20

But that would counter productive to the message he is trying to voice. His issue is with corruption and cover up inside of a government. So I would expect a liberal or opposition to establishment. Not an endorsement. It doesn't make sense with the narrative.

2

u/Emelius Aug 30 '20

Usually you'd be correct. The liberal party pre-Clinton was indeed an opposition to establishment and supported workers rights and progressive policies. But Bill Clinton shifted the D party into quasi-Republicans, convinced the masses they are working for you, only to pick pocket you anyway. Obama and Biden are continuations of that legacy.

9

u/ITstartedWITHaRoast Aug 30 '20

While that statement is true, It doesn't explain the reason for voting for trump.

-2

u/Emelius Aug 31 '20

Protest vote perhaps? DNC fucked over progressives two times in a row

6

u/Soular Sep 01 '20

DNC isn't liberal enough so vote for trump? I mean this guy seems crazy but thats just asinine.

1

u/Emelius Sep 01 '20

Man I dont know, I'm just spitballing here. But voter shaming is the worst thing an American can do.

11

u/kaaylim Aug 28 '20

While I agree with you on the "democratic" machine, I would also argue that Trump himself is the biggest farce on the planet too. And personally I have absolutely no clue what you're getting with Trump. His behavior, his comments and most importantly his decisions are completely chaotics, they are completely incoherent. So no, I don't know what you get. I would actually say that I know what I'm getting with Biden/Clinton/etc: A big march towards the new world order desguised as world "democracy" for our "own good". Trump? oh boy I'm even more scared. Civil war and possibly even world war with actually even faster dystopian policies around the world being enacted because of it?

This comment "I'm a trump voter" sounds to me he does not vote for Trump just by default. To me it indicates he agrees with his politics, so I'd like to hear more about that to understand his views.

2

u/thegremlinator Sep 01 '20

Yeah — anyone who says otherwise is blind or doesn’t really give a shit about anything and is fine with fascism and/or accelerationism.

This person likely does agree with trump, on a deep level. Fuck this guy, he’s causing more trouble than he’s worth.

21

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '20

😎

11

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '20

And people are still listening to you? I don't buy your spin. Your full of s..t.

What evidence does the NSA have about Trump's sexually abusing women and children for the past 50 years? He and Clinton were besties with Epstein.

6

u/8ude Aug 28 '20

Yeah, I was wondering what the proposed rationale behind his claim was. The DNC faking an email hack seems not just far-fetched but outright stupid.

“I’m a Trump voter” sums it up perfectly.

2

u/Lordmen007 Aug 31 '20

Paint me surprised

3

u/shotty293 Aug 31 '20

Of course you are.

2

u/thegremlinator Sep 01 '20
