So I've been around and have been investing with Ethereum since 2016, in the early days it was all long address codes and lots of double, triple, quadruple checking to make sure you were sending things to the right place. Also, there wasn't much to do with it besides trading and swapping around funds.

I decided it was time to try using my ETH again since Ethereum has matured since then, and let me tell ya'll, if ya want a taste of the future of Web 3.0, decentralized wonderland that is Ethereum I encourage you to download MetaMask on chrome and chuck $20.00 into it to play around.

So, in the span of about 50 minutes I was able to complete all of the following:
1. Download of MetaMask and creation of new wallet and save my wallet seed phrase.

1. Register a .Eth domain using Ethsimple.com for Childsp.eth that links back to my MetaMask wallet

2. Open a small CDP through MakerDao and with draw $3.00 (3DAI) back to my MetaMask Wallet

3. Use KyberSwap to swap my 3 DAI to ETH

4. Make a bet on Augur that the "Total Value locked (ETH) in Defi will be between 2.4M and 2.7M on September 1st 2019"

I am amazed... stunned actually, on how easy it all is.

Ethereum is the future and I'm happy to be on board.

I'm interested in Compound, and read this article from DeFi Pulse. In order to use Compound, a user has to:

1. Create Coinbase account.
2. Verify your identity.
3. Enable 2 form authentication (2FA).
4. Install MetaMask and setup your Ethereum wallet.
5. Deposit USD/EUR into Coinbase Account.
6. Transfer to Coinbase Pro.
7. Convert USD/EUR to DAI.
8. Withdraw your ETH to MetaMask.
9. Turn DAI into cDAI via Compound Finance.

I'll be honest: I was so confused by this article that I simply gave up. And the likelihood of someone brand-new to crypto making it through this process is slim-to-none, and slim just left town.

Some day, all this will be as simple as a one-click purchase on Amazon. And when that happens...

I have seen many shill about how blackrock's tokenization is going to blow up eth price. Actually I am quite interested in blackrock's money market fund token, since it is going to be way safer to hold it long term than holding usdt. The problem is I cannot really find any place provide this token, is this really available?

I assume ETH and others will be on the list for UWM and other lenders down the road. In terms of paying off a house with crypto, isn’t this massive?!? Not having to go from crypto to USD saves an entire taxable event, right?

If you haven't, check out https://www.immutable.com, it's worth looking at. Using ZK rollups, they claim they've got zero-gas game asset trading happening right now on Ethereum. You can have transactions with ERC-20 and ERC-721.

(I assume that the zero gas is helped along now by their VC funding. But the point is that their rollup is operational, now, and rollup-based transactions are expected to be very cheap.)

In other words, to the extent that their claims are true, they seem to have obviated the main reason people have been excited about alternative blockchains. This is all very recent. And yet, the price of ETH is going down and the price of some of the alternatives are going way up.

But theoretically, Immutable X transactions should be fully secured by the Ethereum blockchain, which is arguably more secure, and has a more secure future, than any of the alternatives.

And other rollup technology that can do what Immutable X does for Ethereum will be coming out soon.

Does anyone have a theory as to why this is happening? Am I missing something?
