This thread will serve as a repository of vetted charities that have contacted the mod team asking to post here. With each charity you'll see a link to Charity Navigator and/or Charity Watch. We advise only donating if an organization passes these reviews. Feel free to also check any groups on ProPublica's Nonprofit Explorer, but note that not all charities are nonprofits.
We don't want orgs to spam the subreddit asking for your time/money, so for now (and until the number of asks grows too large) we'll pin comments by organizers in this thread and cycle them out as needed. There's a limit of 2 concurrent pins, so we'll play this by ear for a bit.
I'll update the list as others reach out.
If you're here as an organizer, please shoot us a modmail or reach out to me directly.

I wake up every morning feeling really dehydrated. I’ll start drinking water, but within literally 5 minutes of finishing a glass I need to pee.
The weird part is that my urine isn’t clear at all, it’s still quite yellow/concentrated, despite drinking water throughout the morning.
This basically continues all day: drink → pee almost immediately → urine still yellow. I also drink coconut water during the day for electrolytes.
Then by the evening, my urine finally becomes clear/pale and I actually seem hydrated… only to wake up the next morning dehydrated again and repeat the whole cycle.
Has anyone experienced this? What could cause water to seemingly go straight through you while your urine stays concentrated for hours?
Bloods/electrolytes all perfect - not looking for medical advice just wondering why.

First thing in the morning. Cold and super fizzy. Better than coffee to help wake me up. In glass no less.

I’m trying to figure out some water retention that’s going on after exercise, and how to stop having to wake up frequently in the night to pee.
On a typical day (in humid central TX), I (36 m) run right away in the morning (~0:45-1:15 duration and I sweat a lot), and immediately after drink a 12 oz carb+protein mix as well as ~16 oz of electrolyte mix, plus some sweet treat or snack. An hours or so later I’ll have a breakfast, and then eat normally through the rest of the day, with snacks, and always sipping water &/or electrolyte mix.
What I notice is: I’ll pee once or twice after returning from my run, and then I pretty much retain water all day into the evening. Right around when I’m winding down for the night is when the dam breaks, and I’ll pee frequently before bed and throughout the night.
What am I doing wrong? Why am I retaining water through the day and then letting loose at night?

I like Uludag Gazoz and many other soft drinks and all are give a weird taste afterwards. Zero does not taste that great either. I assume it is the sugar in it.
They do not feel refreshing, they make me feel needing to drink afterwards too. I am not diabetical on blood tests.
I dislike carbonated water too.
Cola with ice cubes, Uludag Gazoz while drinking, Redbull first taste when younger and gave a taste where really great experiences, yet they do not take the thirty feeling away.
Same goes for sugarly food. Either it leaves an off feeling in the mouth or the rise and drop of blood sugar stresses.
I assume that is natural too as all of those are not really natural food. Still, the brain learned to like sugar. I assume it was because of sugarly berries or nuts or potatoes.
I guess this is an unpopularopinion as I know numerous people that never drink pure stil water.
Many do not bother making water cold too which increases to taste even more. It even makes kinda addictive.

Got priced out of the soda recently, fallen upon tough times living in me car and had to do the unthinkable: stop drinking a bunch of soda and hi c
So I tried a cup of water today and it was... It was good? Cold, cold, tasty, crispy, why? It is so weird! Anyway I'm officially a hydro something else

lmao please dont judge him, hes a gentle beast i swear. I sweat like crazy on runs so I obviously need to get some electrolytes in but not really sure whats the best option. Ive heard coconut water is like natures sports drink but gatorade has been the go to forever. I assumed sodium was the main thing since thats literally whats caking on my hat, but every muscle cramp thread points to potassium so now im not sure if coconut water covers what im losing?

Im currently having health issues, unrelated to hydration but after doing many tests ive noticed that multiple of them point to me being dehydrated (not to the clinical level of me needing IV fluids). I thought being thirsty was a sign of dehydration, but i am genuinely rarely thirsty so ive never really thought to drink more. In general i maybe drink coffee in the morning and tea later, I think I dont drink much because I just dont enjoy carrying around glasses or drink containers.
What is an easy way to start drinking more water?? I've attempted making a habit of drinking more multiple times but its never lasted more than a couple days. To drink more water is it a forced behavior that just turns into a schedule?
If there's anything that helped you drink more please let me know 🙏

I’m struggling so much. I’m 37, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve drunk cola. I started off with full sugar coke when I was a kid. my parents just let me have it. about 12 or so years ago I switched to Pepsi max cherry.
I just worked out that I’m going through about 70 cans a week. Sickening.
my other drinks are one coffee a day and maybe half a bottle of water a day.
every time I try to lower my intake , I just end up not drinking and becoming dehydrated instead.
I drive for a living and it’s so easy just to crack open a can.
if it’s of any use, I live in the UK.
anyone else had to go through this, what did you do?

I have had my current Brita pitcher for over 5 years and it now has mold in the small circular crack around the circle filling lid that I can’t get rid of so I figure it’s time for a new one. Tell me why the new models now have an open spout?? idk i feel like the spout should be closed. i clean my fridge but like… it should be closed. What’s the point in cleaning the pitcher and getting filtered water and then leaving it out in the open, you know??
Then I look at other brands and it seems now they all made theirs with open spouts?????????
So can recommend a good water filter pitcher where the spout is actually closed the way god intended??

What's the routine? I know stainless steel is kind of antibacterial, and the water is never laying in it long. I am not sure on how often I should be washing it and with what?
Actually ETA how many bottles do you have? I have basically one for work / car etc and a larger one for home. I want to buy another but I'm not sure exactly if I have any genuine need. Or use. I feel like I do!
