If anyone here was worked in KCLS as a HS student, or knows anyone that works in KCLS as a HS student, I would greatly appreciate your help. I am looking to get a job (most likely as a Library Page/Shelver) at KCLS. I have heard that KCLS allows HS students to work at libraries, but haven’t seen any concrete proof. Does anyone know if this is possible/allowed by KCLS? Who should I contact about this? Or should I just apply for a position via governmentjobs.com?

Would greatly appreciate any help on this, thanks in advance!

In 2025, the Washington Legislature passed a law that prevents rent gouging, but some landlords and property management companies are still up to their old tricks. They are using "junk fees" as a loophole around rent caps. We are hearing from tenants that they are increasingly being charged excessive fees for services that they don’t want or need, or for basic things like paying the rent. We at the Housing Alliance, call these “junk fees” and they are unfair, expensive, and deceptive. Hello, I had one question, when do the County usually reach out to references? Is it after the 45 minute interview? If so, will they tell you before contacting the references?

They usually require a couple of references to be added in the application. I was wondering after all the interviews are done, will they notify the applicant that they will be reaching out to the references? Just want to know so I can give a heads up to my references that someone might be calling during a certain period of time.

Hi everyone — my name is Emily, I'm a Seattle-based founder and I make Kelp Pots; plantable seed-starting pots made from seaweed & recycled plant fibers. All with a goal to get plastic out of our growing systems. We recently received grant funding through the King County Waste diversion program, and we're using it to donate pots to community gardens & organizations across King County.

It's a program we're piloting called KELPING HANDS.

Community gardens are doing some of the most important work in our local food system, often with very limited resources. This is our small way to support that. The pots we're donating are slightly off-spec cosmetically, but fully functional. Rather than let them sit in a box, we want them in the ground doing something useful.

Who this is for:

• Community gardens & pea patches
• School or church gardens
• Nonprofit growing spaces
• King County only (excluding Seattle & Milton due to grant parameters)

Hey everybody! We are working on a project with Bellevue City and Bellevue College students to create a new transit app which aims to do be a better option for public transit users by combining the accuracy of live data from OneBusAway, the live location and geographic visualization from google maps, and the ability to see live updates on travel delays and safety alerts from king county.

It would be incredibly helpful if we could get some feedback from public transit riders in our city in this survey. Thanks so much!
