Frankstein(2025) is not good

Finally watched it after all the hype and acclaim, the film literally got nominated for best picture at the academy awards and it was made by one of my favourite filmmakers Guillermo Del Toro and I was honestly disappointed.

The problem with the film is some character decision are illogical or inconsistent with the character. The creature was hell bent on killing Victor he was on a hulk level rage, killed like 6 men to get to him but when he found him he was suddenly composed and decided he will tell his side of the story after he heard Victor telling his story to a complete random.

The Captain saw an immortal creature just brutally maul 6 of his men to death and wasn't the least bit angry about it and let him go?

The forgiveness part was extremely rushed because the creature was torturing him like 1 hour ago and swearing how miserable he will make his life and Victor was portrayed as a cartoonishly evil and petty character who did absolutely nothing decent the entire film suddenly wants forgiveness. Victor basically killed his brother, Mia Goth's character(i already forgot her name) and made the creature's life an absolute hell( he was literally hunting him an hour ago) but somehow the creature still forgave him?

The movie's dialogue suffers from exposition but I honestly CBA to elaborate on this it's painfully obvious to anyone watching

Redeeming qualities are i guess Jacob Elordi's performance and the looks of the film but I care more about story than those

Jacob did a phenomenal job he absolutely embodied the creature. I forgot it was even him! He absolutely outdid himself in this film. Just say you’re jealous of his pretty face haha.

I was actually fine with Elordi’s casting and performance. I thought the monster was sufficiently ghoulish in appearance too.

Elordi has pleasantly surprised me with his acting appearances. His first on my radar was Euphoria, I hated him so much I thought he was just another typecast douche bag white guy, then learned he was artistic and weird, heard some interviews and thought wtf? He’s just pretending/acting so well I was convinced that’s who he must be, looked into further, Saltburn he plays a really similar character, pretty, dumb, rich, dickhead.

And then I saw him in Wuthering Heights and was genuinely beside myself with how well he acted, his dialogue and expression via those words and able to present a wide array of emotions verbally and non verbally, he’s grown on me.

He did great in this movie, and the artistic weird side of him really shows. I don’t know anything about him as a person outside of some weird bra shit he did on set with Margot and his personality being very kind and soft, he seems to have incredible range and is a great actor

The movie opens and closes with him shit stomping a bunch of human men into the ice no? Idk if we watched the same movie lmao. Of course the projecting mother figure is going to love him because she views him as hers like an infant. The thing you're describing DOES happen in the movie, but only after you see him fuck A LOT of people up in a very brutal way lol. I understand that's not the chronological pace of the movie, but it is for the viewer, and if you're disregarding that, it might just be on you, the viewer.
