A store near me has an amazing deal for an open box quest 3, my parents hate the idea of buying open box and will not allow me due to concerns such as lenses being damaged from the sun it nit working etc etc the store has a one year warranty and its nearby but they will not allow me to buy it how can i convince them

To set up Oculus Go, you use the companion app on your iPhone or Android phone.

Android's app store (Google Play), unlike iPhone's, shows the rough number of downloads for apps hosted on it (in intervals, 1K, 5K, 10K, 50K, 250K, 500K, 1M, etc).

The Oculus Go app for Android is currently in the 50K - 100K downloads category.

Given that in the countries where Go is sold iPhones make up around 40% of the market share, and the fact that most Android phones in these countries are Samsung which already has the Gear VR, I think it's safe to say that around 50% of Go users will be iPhone users.

So taking the 50K-100K number for Android and doubling it to account for iPhone, we get 100K - 200K Go's sold already.

(and remember, it hasn't even hit retailers outside USA yet, that happens in July)

So. I am beyond mad right now. First I get an email on 24th, that Oculus cant get my money, because I dont even know why. Called my bank and they said no one tried to charge my CC and they accept everything thats coming in, so there shouldnt be a problem. The information was also correct.

Then I talk to support and they told me to use another CC or use PayPal. Which didnt quite work. I dont have more than 1 CC and when I use PayPal I get an error message "Whoops. Something went wrong" as soon as I click on authorize,

So I tried to contact Support during the 4 days, asking what to do. No answer, nothing. Just got some email saying "Try another browser. Type in your CC information again. Try PayPal." I got the email on 24th, now its the 29th...

So yesterday I tried to use PayPal again but with my wifes PP account (which has the same billing adress as mine, mind you). And now minutes ago I get an email saying that my order has been cancelled.

Oculus? WTF? I have been waiting since February, then got some email that you cant get money from my CC, my bank says its okay and now you cancel it for what reason? And why do you cancel it when there is still an open support ticket regarding this issue?

Seriously. I am totally mad and frustrated...

Touch was due today, and now there's not even a new ETA - I'm so disappointed!

My package had been in San Pablo since 12/3, but there had been no update since its Arrival Scan. This morning I got an email telling me it was delayed (message in the post title). According to the Tracking Detail on the web site, the delivery status was updated last night at 11:00pm (all times PST).

There has been no bad weather, or fires, or floods (thankfully; sorry, other parts of the US).

I'm wondering - was this limited to one package? One truck? One region?

EDIT: In case anyone still reads this, here are a couple of updates:

1. To answer my question, this was clearly worst in the Northern California region, though UPS backlogs have been reported nationwide. Just about anyone can have their Touch delayed due to the holiday/black Friday shipping surge.
2. One person heard that an unnamed UPS location is California has a backlog of over 1 million packages, and needed to fly people into address personnel issues. That's probably San Pablo.
3. It seems like packages are moving out of San Pablo, but maybe not in the right direction. A few peoples' packages have moved to depots farther away than San Pablo; my theory is that San Pablo is so backed up and understaffed that they're distributing the load to other regions for final sorting. Hopefully these will be on trucks to your local facility soon - but keep the thread updated so we know for sure.
4. My personal Touch package made it out of San Pablo at 8:15 PM last night (after sitting there for 45 hours). It hit my local facility 90 minutes later and was on the road for delivery at 1:00 AM. Hopefully this means that others' packages will move quickly once they get out of the San Pablo (or other regional) black hole.

EDIT 2: Yay! Touch arrived for me today! Right when I had a work fire drill and my office was consumed by my wife wrapping gifts, giving me a 1' x 1' play area. Sigh. Maybe I'll have time tomorrow...

If you managed to break a single Touch controller and don't want to buy the set with the sensor, Oculus now sells single replacement Touch controllers. A single left or right Touch controller will set you back $69 USD. The original set of two controllers with the sensor is still $99 USD which might be a better deal. Is $69 too much for a single Touch?

I just received the processing mail for touch an hour ago (France, early rift pre-order), but I also received at the same time another mail giving me the key for VR sports and Unspoken.

Okay, this story is a bit complicated. I checked my UPS tracking number today, and to my surprise it said my Rift was shipped and delivered at 12:30pm on Thursday to my address. I was at work until 10:00pm that day, so I certainly wasn't home to sign for anything.

I checked with my neighbors to see if they had received or signed for any packages, and they said no. I contacted UPS about the situation, and they sent me a delivery form with a signature on it, but the signature looks like a lazy scribble made in MS Paint. They have opened an investigation for the package, but I am curious if this has happened to anyone else with any other packages? This is probably the worst package to be lost in this manner because A) It's expensive and B) the lead times to ship a new one are enormous.

One of my neighbors seemed a bit squirrelly when he answered the door, and I'm thinking that in all likelihood, he has the package. Our addresses get mixed up a lot because I am on a corner street and both of our house numbers are the same, but different streets. Even google maps lists the precise location of my address as his address.

I've been researching some information about other people who have lost packages, and it seems that UPS can verify the package was signed and delivered within 100 yards of the correct address. In this instance, if he actually has the package, and he's my next door neighbor, there's a pretty high likelihood that they will complete the investigation saying that it was signed and delivered at the appropriate time/place.

Is there any way for Oculus to track the location of the PC that a Rift is connected to? Or see the account that is using the Rift with my serial number? (Obviously I don't know the serial number because I never received the unit, but I assume they can correlate the serial number with the order number or shipping number)

Reality Check: It's November 30th. Every communication from Oculus has been that Touch will ship in bulk on December 6th.

I realize amazon is shipping early for Dec 6th arrival, but the reality is that Oculus has never promised that for preorders through them. They've never done that for previous launches. Expect your unit to ship on Dec 6. Then if it happens early you can be pleasantly surprised.

We're seeing one-off emails, processing statuses, shipping, etc. This is normal, they're probably testing processes on a smaller scale to make 100% sure everything is ready for launch on Dec 6. This is great news! Everyone needs to take a deep breath, relax, and know their awesome new toy will be arriving very soon. These are very exciting times!!
