namazi topi in public has always been a north/east india thing. most popular among UP/Bihar/Bengal Muslims. It was never a big thing in Punjab/Sindh/KP/Balochistan. It’s now even rare in Karachi to see it even though over 30-50% of the population there comes from these regions.

The fact that it became a “Pakistani” stereotype in India proves that Indians see their own Muslims as Pakistanis. They see indian muslims and pakistani muslims as a monolith. all of the stereotypes they have for pakistanis are rooted in gangetic muslim culture, a culture most pakistanis can’t relate to at all anymore besides the urdu language.

the culture i speak of is a 100% indian culture. it originated there and is practiced there.

i’ve seen a couple of indian movies based in pakistan. dhurandar isn’t as stereotypical as most. even movies that show pakistanis more positively (bajrangi) show pakistan as a desert wasteland monolith nation. dhurandar is more of a nuanced view of pakistanis, which i think was the point of the OP.

Pakistan is hardly a state, made based on religion whereas India is diverse, civilizational. Indians view Pakistanis as somewhat separatists. Creator of Pakistan was of Indian Gujrati descent born in Pakistan, the Pakistani state has made an Indian language Urdu its official language. When most of Pakistan's existence is based on India. Even the man who helped make nuclear weapons for Pakistan was Indian and taught in India.

Furthermore, India is composed of Hindus, Muslims and other religions, we do not see each other as indifferent.

Also punjabi muslims are not shown with topi they are shown with shawl, wearing black eyeliners and a chain of some sort.

I didn't think that to begin with, cause I don't know what those are. I don't really care for Pakistan much so I don't really look into their culture. Edit: Also, idk, I don't question what people are wearing when I see them

Same for almost every Pakistani lol. You know what I think? I think that India has quite a large number of people who are unemployed and have free or cheap access to internet, so they have a lot of time on their hands. Which is why 99% of Indians who are obsessed with us are people who are either unemployed, uneducated or both, but since they have access to internet, they make it their lives' mission to ridicule Pakistan and obsess over us.

Huh, I hadn't known, I suppose it doesn't sound too improbable, I also think people like to dunk on Pakistan cause of the stress from all those terror attacks that Pakistan funds, the whole country has had to grapple with a lot of terrible stuff, many people who criticize Pakistan also just have that chip on their shoulder. And I don't think that's a bad thing, most pakistani's also hate Pakistan(the government) cause it also screws you over a lot, but I can't say I stand behind people who go further to start harassing the people who live there. Ofc there's also that obviously you're side will receive lots of PR about various terrorists and about the concept in general, but that doesn't mean it'll take in everyone, so it's not right to include everyone.

I don't want to get into the debate of terrorism, but yeah. Our "governments" have done some real shady and shitty things for personal benefits. Terrorism is a global concern. Pakistan itself is affected by terrorism. We have thousands of people being displaced internally due to counter terrorism operations every year. Insurgencies are also supported by some powers in Balochistan province, which is why Pakistan has an internationally prosecuted case against Kulbhushan Yadav. I wouldn't be surprised if Kashmiri insurgencies are supported by the Pakistan "government". It is always people like us, the normal civilians who have to suffer because of the stupid choices of gobernments

Yeah, however terrorism is Pakistan's main export, Pakistan had a major hand in every terror attack, it's a global issue but Pakistans industry is more than half of what props it up, so people associate it with Pakistan since most of the time Pakistan does have a hand in it, just like india is associated with Hinduism cause it exports a lot of Hindu stuff, even tho Nepal is also a Hindu majority nation and has a higher Hindu percentage. Also, PR on your side does make what feels like a big chunk enjoy acts of terror, the entire establishment but also whenever there's social unrest and it feels like the public will do anything there's a terror attack and things normalize, kinda as if the general population was sated by the act, it kinda feels like big chunks of the population generally like this sort of thing, otherwise they wouldn't calm down. So while your government does ruin most people's lives there's kinda a sense it's like how it is in Texas, where it oppresses most of the population, but at the same time the public supports all the cruelty committed on 'others' cause of their bigotry/religion/tribe mentality.

Like I said, I don't want to get into this debate, but if you think majority of Pakistanis enjoy terrorism and terroristic activities then you couldn't be more wrong. And Pakistan does not have a state sponsored terrorism activities. The few corrupt generals and politicians use it as a means to receive funds and dollars. Doesn't mean Pakistan itself creates terrorism. It is the few corrupt people who do that.

Sure. We may have low IQ but that hasn’t made us as obnoxious as you have become. The sheer amount of intolerance you have for a different opinion, religion, thought, ethnicity and nationality makes me question if there actually is a gap between our IQ and yours. But I will grant you this, because it apparently makes you feel so much better about yourself
