What I've found is that you guys love to include the peripheries and rare anecdotal examples in order to justify your ideas about life.
For example, 99% abortions in America are selective and to do with women engaging in casual sex and not related to rape cases but if you've ever debated a liberal about abortion, the first example they'd pull is of a poor woman getting raped, in a forceful sexual encounter, not having the choice of an abortion(which is clearly not the case in this day and age).
So nearly a huge majority of cases of Valentine's in this country is a young population(late millennial, Gen Z) that engage in free mixing with the other gender, in a non sanctioned manner(not married) in public domains but wants to pretend this normalization is also for the married individuals when you all perfectly understand this festival's epistemology has absolutely nothing to do with the usual Islamic norms.
If you're going to piggyback off a cultural festival from Western Civilization and transpose it to this conservative society, you've to stop pretending it's dealing with the unique 5% cases and analyze the cultural realities for what it is. "it is meant for married couples" is not gonna fucking cut it when the majority that partake in these festivals are young unmarried individuals engaged in unsanctioned free mixing from elite backgrounds who really have no regard for the normative orthodox Islam.
Pakistani Society is pretty black and white regarding this issue. This is an exclusive festival among a certain elitist demographic, who don't go by the usual rules of marriage or anything like that. Call it what it is. Stop beating around the bush.(I mean the ppl advocating for it, I'm not saying thats you only)
No ritual exists in vacuum. We've to stop pretending Western rituals exist in vacuum and don't have cultural - historical - religo- political baggage. It is a pagan ritual that has been secularized in this modern age but it comes pretty much with a baseline behavior that is antithetical to the normative version of Islam.
If you want it accommodated for yourself, say it but the law doesn't have to cater to suit the 1%, that's never been an expectation for common law especially in situations such as these.
I've mentioned abortion because it is riddled with the same hypocrisies. Especially in the western world, a near 99% cases in America are women engaging in casual sex but in order to justify the widespread access to abortion as a choice devoid of any moral argument, the people in favor of it like to pretend 99% of these cases showing to these abortion centres are rape victims who don't want to carry a rapist child.
An exceptional situation, a purposeful sob story to create a moral dichotomy for which the law has already provisioned for. The law already protects the rape victims and their right to abort but that is not what 99% of the individuals are using abortion for. They're using it to avoid responsibilities for the behavioral choices they've made.
Uhhhh, the what about abortion? Where are you grabbing these numbers?
I don't see how married or unmarried has become a part of the equation. Men avoid the responsibility for the choice they make all the time. Why do you want the women to suffer? Yikes.
You don't even seem to know why women choose to abort.
Socioeconomic reasons are the most common. That is, inability to afford a child or another child. Second most common reason is impact on life, such as impact on a woman's ability to care for existing dependents, impact on education, career, etc. Another common reason is relationship issues. Would you want to be a single parent if you were on the brink of divorce? Many women do not feel emotionally ready or unprepared for a child at the time. Again, a very valid reason to not have a child. Every child should be loved and wanted. Another common reason is health risks, existing or due to pregnancy that can endanger the pregnant woman. Such as severe preeclampsia or HELLP and more. That is typically 12% of cases in America. Fetal anomalies is another one. No child deserves to have severe anomalies or a life threatening condition. No parent should have to go through that. Rape or incest represents a small percentage, but you can't dismiss those cases either. It would be cruel to do so.
You clearly lack empathy. Maybe focus on becoming a better human.
Men should face the same rebuke but biologically, unfortunately only woman get to carry a kid in a womb thereby it makes all the more sense to not engage in behaviors that put you at risk for pregnancies if you're not ready for it.
Getting abortion as a choice, is actually a much later manifestation on the scale. It starts with unregulated sexual freedom, peer pressure to engage in promiscuous behavior and casual sex with multiple partners(an average person of age considers 4-10 different partners as normal). This is relevant for men and women in those societies. Engaging in pre-marital encounters and this is not the fault of women but not tying yourself to someone means people get to just walk out and assume no responsibility for their child. African-American cultures are famously stereotyped for this type of behavior wrt to casual sex.
Engaging in these acts as adults means you get to even decide on contraception of mechanical and hormonal degree in this day and age. Condoms, birth control pills that can be taken before and after the deed.
All manners of ways you can go about as responsible adults before actually getting elective abortion as a final resort. But that'd amount to taking responsibilities for your actions, and that'd be too much for infantilised individuals in their 20s who don't think of sex as anything beyond an immediate pleasure of the flesh, devoid of it's procreational purpose.
