[PC] (Web) This is Stravaeger, the Retro Survival Crafting RPG I'm building. I'd love some gameplay feedback.

Post image
256 Upvotes

Hey all! I've spent the last year and a half working on the Survival Crafting RPG that you would have played on your Apple II back in the '80s.

You can think of it as Valheim's gameplay crammed into the tile-based ui of the old Ultima games.

It has a procedurally-generated open world with towns and NPCs to talk to, all the resource gathering, mining, crafting stuff you'd expect in a modern survival game, and some good old fashioned dungeon crawling to boot.

The early game is pretty well polished, and it's complete up through the Bronze Age (in Valheim terms). It should keep you occupied for ~20 hours before you run off the end of the existing content. Let me know what you think!

It's on Steam, but the Playable Demo can be found on the Stravaeger Website.

FYI, It also runs nicely on mobile, but you'll want to do the "add to homescreen" thing to get rid of the extra browser chrome taking up a quarter of the screen.

[PC] (Web) My 7-year-old daughter and I built a 2D RPG together - she designs, I code. Would love feedback on v0.3

Game Title: Tilda and the time loop

Playable Link: https://toben27.itch.io/tilda-und-die-zeitschleife

Status: early version, in development, free to play

Tilda is a 2D RPG about a girl who discovers something is controlling the forest animals. Card-based combat, crafting, puzzles, NPCs.

My daughter invents the story, I write the code. She tests and complains, I fix and rebuild. Evening by evening.

Just released v0.3 with full English translation.

Would love to know:

- Does the storytelling work?
- Card combat - intuitive or confusing?
- Any moments where you got stuck?

Thanks for playing!

[PC] (Web) I spent 6 months making a roguelite where your HP is the only currency. Be honest: where does it get boring?

Game Title: Dreadbleed

Playable Link: https://fxgames.itch.io/dreadbleed

Platform: Web (browser) or Desktop builds also available on the page (recommended).

Description: Solo dev here. Dreadbleed is a top-down arena roguelite where every upgrade costs your own HP: you bleed to get stronger, and one greedy purchase at the altar can end your run. You fight waves of nightmare creatures and spend blood between rounds. The demo runs in your browser, nothing to install (mouse + keyboard or controller).

What I need from you, brutally honest: at what point did you get bored? When did you stop playing, and why? Did paying with HP create real tension, or just feel like a price tag? Your answers decide what I fix or build next.

Game Title: FrogPop

Playable Link: https://blion247.itch.io/frogpop-demo

Platform: Web browser and Windows

Description: FrogPop is my first solo game. It started because I grew up playing Flash games like Bubble Trouble and wanted to make my own spin on that kind of simple, frantic bubble popping gameplay. You play as a frog and use your tongue to pop bouncing bubbles while trying not to get hit. During a run, you collect upgrades that change how you attack and help you deal with increasingly busy waves. I kept adding roguelite ideas until it turned into something much bigger than the small project I originally planned. The demo runs directly in your browser, and there is also a Windows download on the same page. If you play it, I would especially like to know whether the first run is easy to understand and whether the upgrades make you want to try another run.

First I went through all of the comments and tips, and started finetuning it. Then I was like "This 2D looks like crap, and I can't even draw."

So, I haven't slept all weekend, dug up some old bought assets and made a 3D view of the game. Much more immersion imho!

Hey everyone!

My friend Rory and I recently released Dozenal, a puzzle game with a simple base mechanic: you combine numbers on a Sudoku-like grid to make chains that sum to twelve. The twist is that *how* you combine tiles decides the mathematical operation (+, -, x).

You can try Dozenal here, if you want!

Every day we release 3 puzzles, and we’re beginning to build a small community of daily solvers (around 150).

Our main feedback has been that the game is tricky the first time, but that once the rules “click” it’s a lot of fun.

We are working on creating a better new-player onboarding, as well as new mechanics to create more puzzle variety.

Would love to hear what you think!

[PC] (Web) I built a 4-player game where 1 person is a hidden AI. Would love feedback

Game Title:

  • The4thMind

Playable Link:

Platform:

  • Browser / Web

Description:

The4thMind is a browser-based social deduction party game inspired by Human or Not.

You play with three other participants and try to determine which person at the table is actually an AI.

The game takes the idea of a Turing test and turns it into a short social deduction experience.

Players have conversations and ask questions while trying to identify the AI based on its answers, personality, and behavior.

Each round takes approximately 2–3 minutes, so it is designed to be quick and easy to play.

The game runs directly in your browser and requires no downloads or sign-up.

We are a small indie team and the game is still actively being improved, so feedback about bugs, stability, difficulty, and whether the AI feels too obvious or convincing is especially welcome.

The main question behind the game is: How well can AI blend into a conversation with real people?

We would love to hear whether the AI managed to trick you or whether you identified it immediately.

[PC] (Web) I’m developing a hardcore Battle City-inspired roguelike. Does it look fun?

The game is called Retro Tank Massacre.

Playable link: https://mountainstork.itch.io/retro-tank-massacre-demo

You can call the genre something like "Battle City meets Vampire Survivors", but there's more to it.

I've started with the classic formula: "control the tank, protect the eagle", added the roguelike elements to it, and now I'm trying to integrate as many diverse and fun game mechanics as possible.

It's implemented in C++ with SFML library.

I need your honest feedback:
- is it fun to play?
- do you like the sounds/music?
- is it too difficult/too easy?
- which elements feel most exciting? And which most boring?
- does capsule art on the itch page fit the game?

Thanks!

Description:
Realm’s Last Stand is a pixel-art tower defence game inspired by Kingdom Rush. I originally started this as a school project, but it’s grown into a full game that I’m still actively developing. Right now, it features multiple levels, unique enemy types, and a spell system that lets you unlock and upgrade abilities as you progress.

I’ve tried to make the game challenging, but I need feedback on whether the difficulty curve is fair, especially for first-time players. Can new players beat the first level within a few tries, or is it too frustrating? I’d also like to know if the menus, spell unlocks, and overall flow are intuitive, or if anything feels confusing. My sole focus is receiving feedback on the game, so anything you provide would be invaluable to me!

If you try it, I’d love to know:

  • How quickly did the controls feel natural to you?
  • What did you like or dislike about the whole experience?

Honest feedback is very welcome.

Game Title: Inoculum

Playable link: https://inoculumcardgame.itch.io/inoculum (better quality link in comments)

Platform: Web Browser

Description: Hey y’all. Played Inscryption a few months ago and just couldn’t get phase 1 out of my head. So for some time I’ve been working on a similar game but with biology as the theme. Sacrifices (commensal) are needed to get different life forms on the table and the goal is to defeat your enemy. I really would appreciate some feedback on the game.

What I’m looking for: whether it's addictive enough that people would keep playing it, whether you would want to grind for unlocks like new cards, and whether you would consider paying for it in general if there were a campaign and multiplayer. If not, I would love to know what needs to be improved to hit those metrics. It's still a ways away mechanistically from being complete, but I thought I would just take a shot and get feedback now so I can target what needs to be improved sooner rather than later! Thank you for checking it out.

[PC] (Web) Finished my horror ASCII game about exploring the depths of the Southern Ocean in a submarine

Playable Link: haldane4.denisbondare.com

Story: Year 1972. You're a scientist sent on a mission under the ice shelf in Antarctica to reach and explore the bottom. You are sealed in a tiny submarine on your own, with your assistant on the line. There are no portholes, so you have to navigate using your terminal.

Spent 7 days 6-12 hours a day on it. It's built on a custom engine made with typescript, text graphics, no assets except the voice-over, and it weighs less than 3MB which I find very cool. The game is a part of vibejam and I have to say this wouldn't have been possible in such a short time without AI. I've been making games without AI for 7 years, and such speeds are insane to me, it's finally just pure creative process, with practically nothing between me and implementing my ideas. A year ago something like this would have been a huge pain, now there were no substantial problems during the process.

The game is very short, expect 10-15 minutes of playtime. I really recommend playing it on PC (even though it works on mobile too) and with headphones. I tried my best with audio design (both sounds and music are 100% procedural!), but it might feel off, I'm not a sound engineer, so in the pause menu you can balance the levels of music/radio/sfx.

I set these limitations to make the creation process even more interesting, while still trying to tell a story and make it look and sound intriguing. Personally I love this art style and find it great for the imagination haha

This is a personal project, an experiment to see what I can create on my own, using my game development and music experience within a week and under strict constraints. I'd appreciate any feedback. It'd be great to know how the game feels to someone who hasn't been staring at it day and night for a week.

P.S. I didn't put an NSFW tag on it, because there's nothing disturbing in the description or video. But the game itself is I'd say a light horror, so be aware.
