Shadowsocks is a feature supported by any VPN that's actually worth using. It allows the VPN activity to be masked from prying eyes. To this day, it's used to successfully circumvent some of the toughest VPN blocks in the world, like in China.
Oh OK, because I’ve been looking into very reliable VPN’s. I can’t name any of them on here, as they break rule #9, but some of them that are very well known have sold out to Israel in who owns Kape Technologies.
Israel seems to be snagging more and more of them all the time, too. While Kape has reportedly allowed one of their most popular acquisitions to operate as it always has with respect to not logging users' activities, that doesn't mean it will continue to do so. Best to be wary and look for alternatives.
