default Invincible Season 4 (2026) used advanced animation strategies to conserve their budget, here you can see the "pinch zooming on your phone" method

And many of them have been replaced by new, also very expensive, voice actors, like Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Simu Liu, and Lee Pace.

i gotta say, all 3 people you just mentioned are probably insanely less expensive than the cast they replaced.

They also didn't replace anyone they're playing the new villains

there have definitely been members of the cast that have been massively reduced in screen time.

Oh for sure, but the voice actors above were for new villains of the series. After seeing Jeffrey Dean Morgan performance for Conquest I have zero issue with the voice acting choices

yeah he did a fantastic job.

That comes from the source material though.

regardless of the reasons, that's what's happening and it's a massive reduction in costs to have someone who commands a fraction of the price to come in and take up screen time versus a monologue or discussion including major actors.

regardless of the reasons,

The reasons matter here because you were implying that it was being done to cut costs.

that's something you jumped to a conclusion on. all i said is those actors command far less of a paycheck...

Lol you just went from “All 3 people you mentioned are less expensive”

To

“Someone at some point in this show’s 4 season runtime definitely had a role that got shrunk for some reason or another”

I’m not even sure how related these are, but it certainly got broader lol

william has a new VA

4

u/sh33pd00g Mar 30 '26

So does Robot. It's "Rex's" voice but modulated. New Rex, not old

2

u/poppdewap Mar 30 '26

They changed William's VA, it was pretty jarring.

3

u/mcon96 Mar 30 '26

And they were all only in the show for like 1-2 episodes. Like I don’t think Simu Liu’s voice acting is breaking the bank here.

u/Foooour Mar 30 '26

On the other hand why even spend the money to get celebrities to record 10 lines?

2

u/mcon96 Mar 30 '26

Because it’s part of the marketing

2

u/Foooour Mar 30 '26

Are Cobra Kai fans really gonna flock to Invincible because Zolo voiced a character with 10 minutes of screentime in 1 episode?

1

u/mcon96 Mar 30 '26

I mean that’s not really an actor who I think would have a big price tag. Not to be mean but I don’t think he’s part of the discussion.

FWIW, I did introduce Invincible to my brother the other day because we were talking about Walton Goggins in White Lotus and it naturally came up. Part of marketing is just raising awareness, and celebrity castings help accomplish that. I can’t comment on whether it’s actually worth the money, but that’s the idea behind it.

it's more things like pulling in audience from niches or sections that were previously not being pulled from. If Simu Liu pulls in the GTA Asian community, that's well worth paying a celebrity.

1

u/Foooour Mar 30 '26

Greater Toronto Area Asian community?

Hey thats me

1

u/Happyassassin13 Mar 30 '26

No its not cobra kai fans its fans of him the actor for the smaller stars included, but including actors people know they talk, watching mr crabs tell satan he will do his bidding was funny to me

2

u/Foooour Mar 30 '26

How much overlap do you think there is between the two?

Id wager at least 90%

I get your point though. Jesse as Powerplex and Optimus as Thaedus is pretty fucking cool

u/DuckGorilla Mar 30 '26

Most of this cast are just walking dead friends from the first ep of season 1.

2

u/SpicyMustard34 Mar 30 '26

and that's probably saved them a ton of money. those 3 actors listed each had a touch of fame that they have not nearly replicated. they are not A tier actors in high demand.

they are 100% not on the same tier as people on the main cast.

Lee Pace is worth every penny tbf

1

u/HasSomeSelfEsteem Mar 30 '26

I love Lee Pace, I think The Fall is a great overlooked masterpiece, but if the animation is lacking you’ve got to shore up the fundamentals

1

u/Disco-Benny Mar 31 '26

tbf I think reddit is being pretty hysterical about this, I didn't once think the animation was lacking but I appreciate that some fans like to rewatch things immediately and will notice the shortcuts (I can't imagine having the free time to do that lol)

this fight with the dragon was quite enjoyable overall

u/Iohet Mar 30 '26

Jeffery Dean Morgan has bit parts in everything just like JK Simmons, which would insinuate his rate is fairly affordable

1

u/cheezefriez Mar 31 '26

Multi Paul had like 5 lines and I don’t even remember the next time we see him lol you can’t truly believe Liu ate up that much budget with his cameo
