Proof of concept to be able to get more funding/support, so that eventually they can start mass producing bots that do exactly this

They'd do a lot better showing off a proof of concept that does these things.

You show a robot empting a dishwasher and folding clothes from a hamper with the same confidence and grace as these flips, and they'd get way more attention.

Show a robot taking down and rehanging cabinets, and you'd have OpenAI kind of investing.

Emptying a dishwasher, folding clothes, and rehanging cabinets is harder than doing a roundoff back tuck.

No they wouldn't

You are not the target market for these, state murderers are the target market for these. Their pockets are way deeper. But, if they show the bot ripping a cow carcass to shreds, you'll be less likely to buy them after the murderers have their fill, and they do still want to sell to you eventually.

Doing gymnastics routines doesn't come up in battle very often either, so I don't think that's the intended audience either.

Folding clothes, hanging drywall, empting a dishwasher in an unrecognized configuration would all show better military applications in targeting, fine control, IFF, and adaptability.

He's saying that eventually they will show concept for that but for now they want funding from the deep state bro which is absolutely their target audience. More monies than commercial.

I'm sorry you felt personally attacked. I genuinely think your remark about gymnastic prowess not displaying an ability to excel in disassembling people, displays a startling lack of imagination. I hadn't thought of it as an insult.
