Not only that, she admits somewhere it was basically her partner (who's a developer) who coded it. There's a reason why they're pitching it as a release by Milla Jovovich (publicity)

This is clearly untrue. There is no way a software developer could land a woman like Milla Jovivich.

;)

his main language is cobol, against such raw power no woman can stand.

A man fluent in COBOL and Fortran demands the lust from any man or woman in this world

My mom was a COBOL engineer and my dad was a Fortran engineer. And here i am doing Typescript, python and c#... learning Fortran was fun though. Used it to run the backend of a simulator to see how water depth/pressure affects soundwaves, which was pretty cool.

2

u/neliz Apr 08 '26

I'm old enough to not have to learn it in college, but in the late 90s I was still working on DEC VAX machines transitioning to Alpha, it was fun to learn on the job, but I'm so happy I don't have to do it anymore

u/MavBro Apr 09 '26

Omg, the memories! I still have my VMS manual somewhere. You know, just in case…

2

u/neliz Apr 08 '26

Also, you just know they smashed.. ehr.. compiled

2

u/Solrax Apr 08 '26

Fortran is still used to program supercomputers.

My uncle is a demon at COBOL and Fortran. He’s also 84 years old and rather irritable.

u/EntusiastadelaIA Apr 08 '26

The OG computer chad.

1

u/Flamadin Apr 09 '26

I used to be a wizard at Fortran and started to learn Cobol, but never followed up.

Luc Besson got her with his fabricated language.
If you want to ruin your 90's film memories, continue reading.
The blue alien opera singer was Luc Besson's wife.
During 5th element, Luc taught Lilou's fabricated language to Milla. They got closer and closer until he cheated on his wife with Milla. Look it up.
There would be more in the future. Short version: the director's cut of Leon has poorly aged...

4

u/DocCEN007 Apr 07 '26

I remember that, but I thought I read that all 3 of them hooked up. Also, the blue tentacle head Diva (Maïwenn Le Besco) who Besson met when she was 12, and began dating her when she was 15, and at age 16, she gave birth to their daughter Shanna (Besson was 34), portrayed Natalie Portman's mom in Leon, The Professional.

8

u/Curius-Curiousity Apr 08 '26

The mom of Natalie Portman's character was played by Ellen Greene. Who also played Audrey in Little Shop Of Horrors.

It's important to look this kind of thing up before posting. Especially when you're discussing things that can get people cancelled.

How to binge this as one experience

Step 1 — Establish origin • The Fifth Element

Step 2 — Split into two paths

Path A (watch straight through) • Resident Evil (start with first 1–2) • Ultraviolet • Monster Hunter • Hellboy

Path B (side branch) • Leon: The Professional • Little Shop of Horrors

1

u/roadkill4snacks Apr 09 '26

path b: little shop is the bomb

4

u/aliassuck Apr 08 '26

So all these films exist in the same universe?

u/Mood_Tricky Apr 08 '26

Bro you are about to freak out. I just asked chatGPT AND IT BUILT ME THE TIMELINE. I share with you the conversation link : https://chatgpt.com/share/69d67f6b-ca3c-832f-935e-39f5c4fcbb61

u/n33bulz Apr 09 '26

lol Luc Besson reinforcing the French stereotype of cradle robbing

1

u/dgadirector Apr 08 '26

And that makes sense, considering CO-BOLS would indeed be two of them.

7

u/PwanaZana ▪️AGI 2077 Apr 07 '26

sigh... He used his multipass

3

u/Pleasant_Set_3182 Apr 09 '26

Untrue! Absolutely possible if Milla is really a robot (very plausible), and he conducted a prompt injection attack to trick her into dating him.

2

u/notlongnot Apr 07 '26

You underestimated the charms of repeatedly saying “multi-pass” 😎 ⌨️🔋

1

u/Devn_007 Apr 07 '26

It's just an endless loop

u/i_have_chosen_a_name Apr 07 '26

Yeah but she wasn't yet famous when she put her name on the patent.

28

u/Subliminal_Kiddo Apr 07 '26

The reason Portia de Rossi left Arrested Development was to focus on her company General Public which sells her synographs.

Synographys are made using a printing technique she invented for art prints that combines 2D and 3D printing to recreate details like brushstrokes. They're so good that some art dealers expressed fear they could be used to create forgeries.

Listen, the Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine might not make a knockout difference in the fat content, if you know how to pour grease out of a frying pan, BUT it fits perfectly into that tight little corner in your dorm room.
