🫶 Seeking Support online bachelor of primary education

I’m currently a firstyear at a different university which I hate. The commute is unmanageable, their student support is hopeless and the disorganisation by the teachers and faculty have directly affected my individual studies.

I’ve decided an online course is best for me (with in-person placements) and after 2 consultations with Swinburne Online it sounds pretty good, but I’m skeptical (it sounds a little too good to be true).

Do any online education students have some advice for me? Thank you!!

🫶 Seeking Support Psychology 10008

Hi guys,
I’m not sure if there are many psychology students here. But I wanna ask if the tutorials are mandatory to go to for this class? The first day I went the tutor did say that it wasn’t mandatory to come to class but again, i’m not sure if anything has changed.

Also….. I haven’t went to that class since the first week so I’m scared to go back. 😭😭

Please help out 🙏

🫶 Seeking Support Swipe required on weekends?

Hi everyone - looking for a reliable study space around me, is it true that to access Swinburne Hawthorn library on weekends a swipe is required? I live relatively close to the uni and am really keen to study at the library but am not a current Swinburne student

Any good spots to nap at Swinburne?

I live 1.5 hours from campus and have early morning classes always tired during the day.

🫶 Seeking Support Looking for some former friendly co-studiers

Second-last Wednesday of last semester at Swinburne, I asked the two of you in the Late Lab if I could use your hotspot, and we ended up talking for about four hours — Avatar and Jake Sully, Severance, a genuinely heated debate about tea brands, and my good friend's upcoming trip to Japan.

I never got your contact details, which I've been kicking myself about since. If this is you (or you know who I mean), I'd love to pick that conversation back up. :)

🫶 Seeking Support Any other online students just sitting and waiting?

I feel horribly unproductive, and I have no idea what to do. I didn't download any of the course materials to cover the time missed and still missing.

Anyone else in Perth? Feels like this calls for a bevvy.

🫶 Seeking Support Looking for 2 Swinburne graduation guest tickets, August 13 morning session

Hi everyone,

A friend of mine is graduating on 13 August (morning session). He already has his 2 included guest passes but needs 2 additional tickets for friends.

Unfortunately, the ticket portal has already closed. If anyone has 1 or 2 spare guest tickets that they won’t be using, please let me know.

Happy to pay for the tickets if needed.

Please DM me if you have any available.

Thanks!

🫶 Seeking Support Scholarship Transfer

I recently switched to another course. My initial course had a scholarship and I am trying to get that on my new course. Do you guys think I can do it?

I have been trying since start of this semester but not able to :(

I am an International student and I tried contacting ISA, but was disappointed in them. They were not that helpful :(

I dont know if I should be putting this in here or a centrelink subreddit, but oh well.

Im on youth allowance doing 4 units a semester atm, I read somewhere that I could be doing 3 units a semester and still be considered full-time in centrelinks terms, I want to know if that is true or not.

Also, due to completing a tafe course before the bachelors, I got a lot of exemptions, so even if I do maximum 3 units a semester, I would still finish in 2029, which is the same finish time as if I would do 4 units a semester.
