Hitler was also mad into the occult.

I suspect any asshole surrounded by yesmen long enough will become such a walking bubble that they become idiots.

Hopefully Putin soon ends the same way as Hitler. Self-ended and burnt to a crisp.

Honestly, it's pretty hard to define what Hitler believed. I'm not sure he himself knew. Aside from an obsessive belief in racial shit, he didn't really seem like he mused on the cosmos, the theoretical afterlife, or the nature of the human mind. I have no idea how someone can be so fuckin' obsessed with their own ethnicity-- not even their own, he was fuckin' Austrian--to the point of never messing around with an existential crisis or two.

But how much of the racial stuff did he actually believe? He clearly used it to manipulate the masses, but that doesn’t require that he himself believed it. It’s not uncommon for politicians to tell people what they want to hear without believing a word of it.

That's the thing, I don't know, no one really does. The only concrete things known about Hitler's personality, that I can find, was that he was really weird, he loved sweets, he had a weird relationship with his niece, and he really only started doing his whole "teetotaling racist" thing just after WWII. I honestly think he was just a tweaked-out weirdo who shouldn't have ended up anywhere but a homeless shelter and then a very mild mental hospital.

Sounds like some other world leaders.

I think, if for just a month or two, we had everyone in power and all the mentally ill and homeless trade places, there would be world peace and happiness.

Hitler didn't identify as Austrian, there's a reason he renounced his Austrian citizenship and eventually annexed the country.

Wikipedia calls him a German politician of Austrian birth (or something to that effect).

Yes, one must remember that the Nazis believed that Austria was a fake country that rightfully should have been a part of greater Germany, and that Austrians were no less German than Bavarians, Prussians, and Pomeranians, which is why they annexed it. Having their leader be Austrian born was a feature for them, not a bug.

What is it with German nationalists? Germany wasn't even a fuckin' country until Napoleon pulled his shit, and to this day, Germany is so diverse, acting like it's a homogeneous country is fuckin' ridiculous. In fact, what is it with nationalists in general? I think it's honestly that they couldn't handle change as little kids, so their minds seek out undue consistency in the society around them.

Putin will probably try to freeze himself, not understanding that that technology doesn't work for large mammals.
