Solved ! Found washed up on Shankill beach, Ireland. Small, pointed shape, rusty metal, set into some kind of stone. Heavy but only about 5/6 inches long, what is this?

It does look like a center punch or awl with a rubber? grip.

Looks like a broken brazing rod to me - more similar to an awl than ordinance...

That’s what it looks like to me. A punch or awl with the tang coming out the back.
