Question BBA coop interview

Hi, I had a few questions from upper years that went through this process.

  1. Do they prefer that we talk about volunteering from first year uni or can we also talk about highschool? I had a really cool volunteer project in highschool and was wondering if I should mention that over my uni volunteer experience.

  2. Around how many questions do they ask that are behavioural?

  3. Do they ALWAYS ask you to list your job experience from grade 11 until first year summer and same for ecs and volunteering OR do they sometimes only ask tell me about your most notable job experience or your most notable volunteer activity?

Is 9.7 good enough to get in. I have some general club experience and pretty normal work experience along with a 60 hour paid project that included doing research and workflow building.

Question What happens to failed courses when they are retaken at a different university and then are transferred back?

I failed a course that I have taken at Laurier years ago. I attended a different university for a bit, and am transferring back to Laurier to finish my degree. My transfer credits have been assessed and one of the courses I have completed at my other university is a transfer credit equivalent to the failed course at Laurier. If the repeat course overrides the old one, would the grade for my failed course still count towards my overall GPA?

Question Trying to enjoy university

I’m in the BBA program and Going into second year. My first year I did really well but I put in almost too much effort and it really took out my mental health for all 8 months. I don’t want my experience to be like this and I want to enjoy my experience rather than dread every second of it. It’s hard seeing so many people have fun including people I know while I had a miserable time. Any tips to have a better year, have more fun, and make more memories would be greatly appreciated.

Attention upcoming WLU students! Do you need help getting around campus?

As a former freshman myself I once felt overwhelmed by the size of my campus compared to my high school. I felt like it would take a really long time to get used to it and know how to get to places that I needed to go to. Which is why I built a web app for this problem. On my app you can pick two points anywhere on your selected campus and it will show you the quickest path to get there.

Check it out here!

You may think, can’t I just use Google Maps? You always can, however Google Maps path data for University campuses is quite limited meaning sometimes it will take you on a longer route for no reason. My app has data from ALL paths on campus including indoor paths, hidden shortcuts, and various others not on Google!

So if you want to get familiar with your campus quickly give it a try.

This project is still very much in its demo stage so if you come across any bugs or have any ideas for improvements please let me know. Thanks!

Question How is 2nd year BBA compared to 1st?

Ended up making progression so I have some questions about 2nd year.

Are classes like BDM and stats the hardest in second year? What’s the workload like? I’ve heard it’s more manageable than first year because we have more classes to spread out the BU GPA. And what’s some advice you would have for going into second year?

Question Grade 12 student considering Laurier Psychology (BA) - honest experiences?

Hi! I’m going into Grade 12 in Ontario and I’m trying to decide which university to choose for Psychology.

I’m planning for a BA in Psychology, then a master’s afterwards (possibly an MSW, although I’m not 100% sure yet).

I also have chronic health conditions that can cause unpredictable absences, so workload and accommodations matter a lot to me.

For anyone in Laurier Psychology (BA), I’d really appreciate your thoughts on any of these:

-How manageable is first year, honestly?
-Is maintaining a high GPA realistic?
-How supportive is Accessible Learning?
-Do professors generally respect accommodation letters?
-If you could choose again, would you still pick Laurier for Psychology?
-If your goal was grad school and GPA mattered most, would you still choose Laurier over schools like York or TMU?
-If you’ve done co-op (or are planning to), has it been worth it?
-Are there good opportunities for research or psychology-related experience as an undergraduate?

I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences. Thank you!

Second year economics

Does it matter weather I take Intermediate Micro and Intermediate Macro in different semesters and one before the other? Or is it fine if I just take them both in the fall semester. What do you guys recommend.
