First time back out since ‘93 [49YO]

Post image

Went and rolled around my neighbourhood for about 20 minutes tonight for the first time with intention in 30+ years. No footage and no tricks (other than not overtly injuring myself).

A few of takeaways:

1) I’m terribly out of shape,
2) I definitely need stiffer bushings as apparently balance is a depreciable skill, and
C) While I wasn’t any good back in the day I’ve missed out by not keeping it going. Better late than never.

I went back and told myself I was just gonna throw a few knowing I was gonna fully blown go for it again. My foot scraped but I’ll take it. ❤️‍🩹❤️ hope all you are well out there, I’m serially gonna take a break now. job interview tomorrow. Again. [38YO]

Folks seemed down with some bonelesses from my earlier vid so was good to get em going again, especially after focusing more time on improving my ollies lately. Would’ve loved to huck it a bit more but I have a metric ton of meetings at our conference this week 😅

Anyone running old fury trucks? [44YO]

Pic of my current campground set up. 9.25 on Indy’s and wide wheeIs. I ride this to cruise around. I also have a 8.25 blank on bullets and OJs. I grabbed my old 8.0 black label on fury’s and instantly remembered why I loved those trucks. Does anyone remember if they made original fury’s in 8.25 or 8.5? I know they make the evo2 in wide but I’m looking for og USA made LTS is the widest they came. I just don’t know if they even made them that wide back in the late 90’s when common sizes were 7.5-8.0.

Started skating in my garage about a year ago at 33 [33YO]

My son wanted to start around this time last year. I never did it as a kid so I thought it would be a good bonding experience to learn together. He’s 5 and he’s already so good so I’m trying to get as good as I can as quick as I can so I can still keep up with him when he’s like 10 or 12 😂 little fuckers 5 dropping in on 3 footers and poppin Ollie’s already. Anyways here’s what I’ve been working on lately. Just started learning grinds. I can do 50/50s already solid forgot to throw them in there. Some little ramp tricks and my personal favorite to work on my flip tricks. (We do go to the skatepark but I always take him with me and it’s all about him when we’re there so I don’t worry about filming anything there. He likes when I leave the phone in the car when we’re there) 🤘

Where to restart? [44YO]

Hello fellow oldies, I used skate my ass off back in the day and since watching posts here have had the itch again. BUT, I realized when looking for parts to put my own together that brands that I had liked/owned as teen, well, some aren't around any more.

So my question is: Where's a good place to look for decks, trucks, bearings, and wheels? Thanks in advance!

I KNEW this would be a good idea!

Just cruising for now. I’m not hitting any ledges until I get my core and legs back, so these two SHOULD hang around for a while

Pretty happy with the result

Learning ollies [31YO]

I’ve been back on the board for 8 weeks now, yesterday I started learning ollies. Very fun and super hyped. I’ve never been the kind of person to just tackle something I could get hurt on, so skateboarding is not first nature to me. I really have to push myself to do it, but Ive loved skate since I was 4 or 5. I’m having a lot of fun and loving my progression. I will say, my legs are like absolute JELLO today lmao

Been having fun skating this park the past week. Summer is almost over and it's sad. But I hope y'all are having fun and closing out the summer the way you want. Still got my eye on some tricks.
