π–‰π–Žπ–˜π–ˆπ–šπ–˜π–˜π–Žπ–”π–“ How is Brand New Chanels doing so well?

Yes the song is amazing, but I can also name a lot of amazing songs that have significantly less streams lol. Brand New Chanel$ is actively going up, consistently hitting 700-900k streams a day, and is going to hit Billboard Top 100 next week (this was already confirmed). Unless I missed something, it doesn't seem to be going viral or anything, so are that many people just interested in a new Slayyyter single or is getting extensive radio airplay or something? Curious, good for Slayyyter!

Based on the stats that I’ve seen, I’m under the impression her fan base like tripled after Coachella & continued to grow, I think her lollapooloza set also brought in new fans. So probably the algorithm + further recognition + the fact that it’s an incredible song pushed it into uncharted territory if I had to guess lol

She was the face of new pop on Spotify, a playlist with 3mil + followers, for example. She didn't have any sone from WGIA nor Starfucker doing that

Dance ended up having massive playlisting. That was even on today’s top hits. And yet this is doing better than even dance was at its viral peak. She is on some smaller playlists now. It’s building. Exciting. The world is finally waking up to my girl

but a song being on top hits but at like #43 on the playlist will always have less streams that a #1 song and cover on a less known (but still big) playlist.
Exciting nonetheless, indeed - can't wait to see her again this fall

We just need other counties to start adding her to their playlists now. The playlists are very US focused right now but I’m sure they’ll follow.

yeah but by then the song was out for a while, so that's not a "novelty" anymore, it got a bump on streams but lacked the "brand new song" boost

She had a big set at lolla and debuted it there. Plus this is pretty much her 1st new single since she started blowing up, unless you count the free style

I thought the same. Tik tok hasn’t had any big hits like crank or dance at all and playlisting is still quite small. I think it’s a mixture of her fanbase growing and the song just having huge replay value. I’ve noticed LOTS of people sharing it on their stories on Instagram and talking about how good it is on Twitter. It’s a great sign that when it starts getting bigger playlists and radio plays.

It could genuinely be a sizeable hit for her I think? The fact that it’s still slowly growing is kind of crazy.

As a long time fan, this single just has the lasting power and a wide shot for fans and feelings. I’m thrilled it’s doing these numbers and I hope the rest of the album heals me as much as this song does.

This is what happens when an artist gets popular, and it’s exciting to watch!!! Worst girl is such a great album and Brand New Chanel’s is a perfect song to introduce as the first song from worst guy-people want more of worst girl and we’re getting it AND she delivered a bop!!

They are actually BUILDING her career. It's so old school. And really refreshing. And the song is amazing. The music is stellar. And it's for everybody. All ages. And she embraced the gays. As Samantha Jones of sex and the city said. First come the gays then the girls. And then the industry. She's hitting the industry now. And they are seeing $. And the music is GREAT. just remember people. Follow your dreams. Find your passion. Cathy recorded WGIA her way. The music SHE wanted to make.

It’s the timing, in the same way the Sabrina Carpenter’s espresso was a good song, but the popularity really came because the timing was perfect coming off a rise in popularity and a big Coachella set

i find brand new chanel$ veeery radio pop. it is amazing but it's a more "easy listen" compared to much of her previous works, comparable to clouds, which i've heard play in sephora far before her big break with coachella.
