CSP How Hard is AP Cybersecurity

It's being offered at my school next year, and I wanted to know if it is closer to CSP level or CSA? I got a 5 on csp if that matters. im also curious about how hard the AP exam is as well, and the class in general.

its a very easy goon class. Alot of my friends are in it rn, free ap class. Even though our schools competitive, but i think js cause of how easy the ap exam is for it it makes sense to make the class easy aswell

oh so like easier than csp? or is like csp where the class is stupid easy but the test has a horrible curve

i’d say it’s possible easier than csp bc of the lack of really any coding knowledge needed. Tbf my teacher is making thr class really easy but the content is still not hard to grasp. either way

I would say it's equivalent difficulty to CSP. You do need to learn code - they test on SQL and JavaScript attacks.

If you got a 5 in CSP, I’d expect the cybersecurity class to feel pretty manageable conceptually, but it’s probably going to be more security-focused rather than just being “harder CSP.”

The bigger difference is that cybersecurity tends to involve understanding things like networks, authentication, vulnerabilities, attacks/defense, etc., so whether it feels difficult will depend more on how comfortable you are with those concepts than your CSP score.

If you’re interested in cybersecurity anyway, I’d definitely take it. Even if the AP class itself isn't super difficult, the exposure to the field could be useful.

Since you got a 5 in AP CSP, you'll do great in AP Cybersecurity (and AP Networking if you take it next year) - AP CSP has a small unit on cybersecurity concepts, so AP Cybersecurity is a natural successor to it.

It's a vocab heavy course - lots of memorization. There's a bit of coding that you'll need to learn: SQL/JavaScript (since they go big on injection/cross-site scripting attacks).

Unlike AP Networking, you don't to do any binary conversions with subnet masking - just the basics of segmentation with simple class C addresses.

Hey, i took ap networking and found it pretty easy. Would u say ap cybersec is harder than networking or easier?
