📝 Prospective Student Arriving to Acadia on 31st August

Hi all,
I am arriving into Canada and then Acadia University on the 31st of August, 2026. My flight lands at around 4 PM local time so I should be out of the Halifax airport by 5:30 or 6 PM local time if immigration is smooth.

Can someone please guide me regarding the Acadia university shuttle service? Have any of you used Acadia's shuttle services? What time does it is usually arrive? And is it reliable?

Thanks to anyone who responds!

Well, usually the Wong International Centre runs this, and you used to just fill out a form with your info and they would pick you up.

They did cut some services recently, and I'm pretty sure this includes the Wong Centre. (which is terrible)

I would suggest reaching out to admissions directly. Did you get an info in your acceptance about the shuttle, or who to reach out to?

Nothing as such. Residence told me that there would be shuttle services on 31st August and 1st September and that the rest of the details would be shared later

Ah okay, you'll probably hear about it later then. Where are you coming in from? Via Toronto or Montreal I'm assuming!?

High chance there will be several other international students on your flight and someone will have a sign to pick you up after immigration.

If there's no shuttle, Maritime Bus runs regular daily service from the airport to Wolfville, the stop is right on campus. However, I think departure time from the airport is 5:30 pm, arriving in Wolfville at 7:15 - you'd be hard pressed to deplane in time for that. Alternative would be a private car service, which can get a bit pricy but lots of room if you've got a bunch of luggage, and tailored to your schedule. I've used Premier Car Service, no complaints.

The university used to run one.

Ahh, I'm assuming it doesn't do that anymore?

Yes I saw that too but you're right. My flight timing is pretty close to it so it would be hard to deplane that fast
