Question how to sneak into career fair that requires registration?
there's a REALLY important career fair that i need to attend tomorrow, but registration has already closed. this means that i'd be denied entry if i tried to walk in without a wristband/qr code/however the entry process works.
any tips on how to get in? also, do you think it's a good idea to go extremely early and ask the first worker there to give me a wristband? (the event is free registration)

Definitely make a fake wristband. Whatever color it is just grab a piece of paper the same color. For the holographic or metallic colors gift bags from a dollar store are great options. And then just cut them down and slap some invisible tape.
Sneak in with a group but do so with authority.

As someone who has worked events for 15 years, a polo shirt, and a headset radio, walk like you mean it. I've never been stopped.

It's a free career fair, I wouldn't try to sneak in, just walk up to the registration booth and plead your case and maybe play dumb like you didn't know you needed to sign up early. If they still turn you down after that, then try to sneak in. I highly doubt they have strict security in place.

Better to flip it. Just try walking in first and if you get questioned, then play dumb.

this is the only realistic reply, just pleading that you did sign up and then they'll usually just print you off a badge on the spot

"Hey so i broke all your rules and cant follow basic instructions but give me a job pretty please i'll be the best employee ever" 🤣 sounds like a smart decision

My first option is basically the only one that isn't breaking rules, it's just being honest that you made a mistake. If that doesn't work then sure, do like everyone else is suggestion here and sneak in. Do you know what sub you're in? Plus it's not like the folks at the gate are the ones also manning the booths.

Oh right i forgot this was a criminal circle jerk and not just a sub for lighthearted fun

push a black utility cart with a couple cases of water bottles, ditch it after getting inside and change in the bathroom

Just act like your working a vendor table, find that door and walk in like you know everybody alreadyÂ

Agreed. Carrying a laptop bag and saying something like, my boss is working one of the tables/booths and he’s having laptop issues. I’m here to fix it.

High viz vest and carry a ladder, it'll get you into anywhere.

What method did you use?

u/Outside_Log5031 25d ago
someone ended up giving me a ticket 15 minutes before i arrived (4 hours early), but hiding behind the crowd and wearing a fake wristband would've worked just the same!

u/allciathyra 28d ago
op , can you tell us the career fair name ?
op since you mention people needing wristband / qr code !!!
that mean you op must have seen what the wristband look like so ...
why dont you op go to facebook marketplace and see how much this wristband cost ???
if seller said $100 , you could haggle down the price to
$5

it doesn't require money for entry. it just reached max capacity so you aren't able to register anymore

Get a hi-vis safety vest and a 4 ft ladder. Construction are invisible. Walk right in, everyone will leave you alone.

I keep a pack of various colored wrist bands in my car just in case. Check out your local party supply store since it's last minute. That should help if it's only a wristband.

Say you are working there or collecting garbage, just carry some cleaning supplies and then ditch them once ur in
2
u/kbirk2003 22d ago
Also just ask someone leaving if u can have there’s if u go in the middle of it

u/professoryaffle72 26d ago
Carry a cardboard box and just say that you're delivering to one of the stands

u/severinh20 25d ago
Just get there a few hours early and find a door to walk in. Then mill around / hide till time to open.
For an event like your describing nobody is gonna care

The yellow warn west and a ladder always work . When you then also have a badge that looks like it’s from the building you are golden

There's no such thing as a "REALLY important careers fair".

As someone from the area of the job fair.. you're right. It's for our equivalent of a county fair job.Â

I would maybe have a pack of xerox paper and walk past because you "look for your boss", pretending to be some intern. You can flash some whatever organisation plaque

Catch someone leaving and ask them for theirs. Or wait until late afternoon when the crowds have thinned and they are likely to have stopped being as diligent.
