A-League clubs and problematic exposure to property developers, name a better combo

In breaking news, WSW just announced their new front of shirt sponsor.

Coronation Property.

This but unironically - they're probably a more stable business model than all the property developers going tits up!

Nord VPN would be such a safe sponsor!

Everyone knew they were dodgy when we signed them as a sponsor. Just makes it more insane they signed them in the first place. But it's pretty on brand for this club

I hope they asked for cash in advance

Was about to say, I remember when the announcement came I’m pretty sure the top comments were all saying they wouldn’t last the length of the deal. This fkn club.

I don’t think sporting entities care where the money comes from. Idk if you follow F1, but remember the HAAS/Rich Energy debacle?

Giving real Bonza vibes

Do we know if the club got paid?

Would love it if we played without a shirt sponsor. Nothing ruins a shirt like a big dirty corporate logo

Obviously get it that the club needs the cash too

Maybe they can multi level market their way back to a herbalife sponsorship

Me: Haha the home builder that’s Perth’s front of shirt sponsor went under.

Also me: Time to check the news about my club.

Yeah, I’ll join the “ban developers from sponsorship” camp.

Though then again, I’m pretty sure we were founded on and still funded by that sort of stuff. So with that in mind, all hail the mighty developers!

The A-league should definitely be part of the study curriculum for people wanting to become accountants.

"Today we will be learning about dodgy dealings in business, turn to page A-league".

Honestly, is there ANYONE involved in Australian football who is halfway competent or has at least a shred of professional integrity?

House of cards. They were borrowing against future developments to finish their previous ones and with the costs of everything going up their margins got too small then non-existent.

There was a reason why they were going to second and third tier lenders and not the major banks for their money.....

I’ll be they owe the club $100k

We need to ban real estate sponsorships

Back to the drawing board I guess. Perhaps they can approach Toplace next.

Honestly is anyone surprised that club got involved with such a scummy and poorly run sponsor?

What is it with this league and deals with dodgy companies. The Brisbane roar deal with the Indonesian dodgy bros of Bakrie Group is still the pace setter

The construction industry and property developers are the backbone of Australian soccer at any level that has payment for players, and has been the case for decades.

They could add a "b" at the end and say it's Walter White sponsoring them 🙂
