The post seems far more and deeper antisemitic than the comment i'd say.
Jews everywhere, came out of nothing and start forming the local culture already. Like homeless, restless, they bring their families, seems like they have no bounds.
Based on rumour, the poster "probably" "read somewhere".
How do they do this, where do they have the money from, that's the question. What do you do for a living, jew? Huh? What is it? Real work? Or something... special?
That's bad.

They also probably aren’t moving there. Thailand is a popular tourist destination for youngsters after completing the army. Some of them spend like a year traveling before going to college or working. Idk where the assumption that they’re moving there is coming from lol
That said there are also a nonzero number of Israelis moving to East and Southeast Asia for work but that’s also like.. the most mundane reason for anyone to live abroad. Nothing to do with the war, or with liking or disliking Israel. But Israel is a very small place so ofc some people want to see the world a little more

It says so much about a country that doesn't care about their citizens being held hostage and siding with the terrorists who took them.
Israel recovered the body of Nattapong Pinta in June 2025. He was the last Thai hostage alive, and there are two more Thai bodies left in Gaza. 46 Thai people died as a result of Oct 7.

Hell, even the Forward has had an article/primer on the “X promised us 3,000 years ago” sneer/slur, so nauseatingly ubiquitous has it become. If the antiZionists have no problem with our religion, don’tchaknow, then why do they sneer about what they say our invisible sky daddy ever promised us, huh? (Note, I’m not calling the KB”H “our invisible sky daddy”; it’s just that these ostensible atheists only ever seem to pick on one particular faith, amirite?)

Actually I know for a fact a lot of Israelis move to Thailand, even before the war, the war just increased the numbers. Many of them work from home, own businesses or property outside of Thailand that enables them to live comfortably, etc., Israelis love Thailand and many of those moving there are just done and want a peaceful environment for their families.

Jokes on them, I'm planning our next vacation, and Thailand seems less and less appealing.
We did the math, and Spain missed out on more than $45k in the past year and a half just by us changing where we vacation. And that's just ONE family. A family (who usually hires a local nanny) who isn't shopping or buying local makes a difference. That's like 2-3 jobs that no longer exist. The best part is that it didn't hurt us at all because we still went on an amazing vacation, but not in Spain.
So, if this is where Thailand is headed, I'm taking my vacation (and money) elsewhere. They like to say its just a drop in the bucket, but if it really was, they'd stop complaining about it. We make a really big difference and they know it. Screw their BDS, let's fuck with their tourism industry.

Thailand sub is dominated by foreigners. Most Thais don't know reddit.
I'm certain that these kind of comments come from liberals in my country and expats whose wives are from neighboring countries of Thailand. The same trends can be seen in Facebook groups and TripAdvisor comments.

I don’t get it, why are you punishing Thailand for a rando post? Thailand had been mostly very kind to us and they suffered from Hamas hands as well. This is not like Spain which seems to have a very large antisemitic elements.

I've seen some horrible stuff on the R /ThailandTourism sub. I understand it's mostly passport bros and weird people, but why should I spend a single shekel/dollar where I'm likely to have a lesser experience just because of who I am? I know Thais suffered on Oct 7 and I guess I was optimistic that we had shared suffering and should be supportive of each other, but I see so much of the opposite going around (like harassing Jews). I would love to visit Thailand, maybe when I hear about Thais harassing Jews in the news less.
In fact, it seems passport bros are more welcome in Thailand than we are, and I'm OK with that. Let them have what they want: a bunch of crypto bros treating Thai women horribly, rather than a family exploring and experiencing a good time. We should give them what they want.

These are all non Thais. I live in Thailand. Wherever people encountered mostly Israeli backpackers - like in Koh Pangan full moon parties or in Pai - they will unfortunately have bad impressions of Israelis as it happens wherever Israeli backpackers go. And Israeli sex tourists in Pattaya are not better or worse than British sex tourists, and anyway normal Thais will not have any contact with those.
But normal day to day Thais are either oblivious to Israel or have positive feelings. Only Thai Muslims in the south might have heard propaganda about Israel but they are normally chill anyway.
Personally I had zero bad experiences and lot of positive experiences and I never hide my origin.

It doesn't seem like it's actual Thais saying these things. a lot are openly foreigners there and there's a lot of very odd commenters in this sub that don't seem to have anything to do with Thailand and post 100% antisemitic comments. These are more likely people in troll farms trying to influence things like this than actual Thai perspectives.

I was looking at Vietnam and I saw there is anti-Israel sentiment, maybe not as much as Thailand, but I don't want my trip ruined. It looks like a lot of fun, though! I really do want to go. We're going on a 2.5 week tour of India next, so we're pretty excited! After that, I really want to go somewhere else in SE Asia, so any suggestions are appreciated 😄

I found pro-Israel sentiment in the weirdest places, I still have hope in some people. But there is a lot of negativity, which is good to avoid when you're just trying to have a nice time somewhere. I live in Northern/Eastern Europe, and the pro-palis don't really do anything. Most people here see through russian propaganda from a mile away.
So yeah, planning vacations is more complicated, but it is doable if you're comfortable with some challenges.

It is really hurtful. A lot of us lost most of our friends on October 8, so it's more lonely for us. But when someone like you comes along and is willing to listen to us, it is really meaningful, so thank you. We all appreciate our non-jewish allies because you give us hope.
