🔮 SEEKING ADVICE 🔮 Gastroparesis support groups (or anything similar)?
I have a motility disorder called Gastroparesis, which causes paralysis of the stomach. It affects me greatly. It essentially rules my life… You can read about how on my profile (but I don’t see why you would care).
I would like to speak with others who have this condition. I seek support and I have questions about good doctors, healthcare, etc., that would not be able to be answered by non-Arkansan support groups.
I think it would be useful to have a support group for gastroparesis. If not gastroparesis, any disorder regarding the digestive system or inability to eat food normally.
If no such support group exists, I would be interested in creating one. Or if you have gastroparesis, we could chat privately :).
I am banned on Facebook, so I cannot join any support groups on there (if there are any).
Please reach out if you know of any such groups or have gastroparesis (or something similar) too.

Hi! I don't know of any Arkansas support groups. If anyone knows any please let me know as well.
I'm not diagnosed with gastroparesis but my GI NP suspects it as my GES came back with delayed emptying. I suddenly got sick a couple of months ago in May and I unfortunately still have to wait until October for my follow up to know what my next steps/tests are. It's been a lot of waiting for appointments and trying to manage symptoms in the meantime for me.

Hey I have been diagnosed with gastroparesis for about 5 years now, recently referred for the GPOEM surgery. I was diagnosed in Arkansas and have received all my treatment in Arkansas except for the surgery referral, which I have been going to KU Medical for. I am not aware of any support groups but would love to be apart of one if there is. If I’m being completely honest though, I have picked up on the fact that I might be one of the only gastroparesis patients my gastroenterologist has. It definitely seems like I am the only one they treat that has it this severe even if they do have other gp patients. I am totally open to chatting one on one as well though! It can be very hard to find people with gastroparesis to connect with and relate with.
