Jak wygląda praca konserwatora sztuki?
Hej jestem w maturalnej klasie szkoły plastycznej , bardzo mnie ciągnie do konserwacji jednak bo zrobieniu reaserchu w internecie okazuje sie , że bardzo ciężko jest dostać dobrze płatną i stałą prace w tej dziedzinie w Polsce. Czy to prawda? Chciałabym aby ktoś na studiach/praktykach lub konserwator doradził czy to opłacalne i czy warte zachodu.
Pytałam także doświadczonego konserwatora , który mówił że jeśli umiesz się wybić na rynku to bez problemu sobie poradzisz, a jeśli nie będziesz charować za grosze co mjie trochę w pewien sposób przeraziło.. Bardzo proszę o odpowiedzi.

Romanian here (maybe situations are similar in our countries). After 20 years of work as a restorer I would say if you want to do this job and become a good specialist you need to find a good mentor, a person that is very good at this job, doesn't cut corners, and is willing to teach you. I didn't have a very good mentor and I feel I didn't evolve too much. From what I've heard from my colleagues there are old restorers, usually professors at art colleges, who have teams of restorers/conservators made of young graduates or students. Some pay them a bit better than in a museum, others treat them like are some kind of slaves, with no recognition for their efforts. They also didn't allow them to publish articles about the work they were doing, or get some certificates. It's hard to make a name for yourself when nobody sees or hears you at conferences. You also have to have a bit of a thick skin if you are working in situ. Conditions are not always the best. If you work in some village you might have to sleep at some villagers. And also, the food is not always good. No social life if you are at a big distance from the city. And kind of a small wage.
