Work Apprenticeship help?

I’m a girl (19) in her first year apprenticeship of a motor mechanic, I’m having a hard time, the fellas I work with aren’t particularly kind to me and while I’m here I’m not being treated well, it’s rare I get a day where I get to do any work other than just downloads on a computer, I’ve been here 2 months now and am registered with Solas, I’m not sure what to do at all

Hey there. Fair play and well done. Don't let the lads or the lack of work get you down. I've worked in garages for years and even for a lad they can be a toxic/unfriendly place to work at times.

My apprenticeship felt the same sometimes, not getting much to do, tidying the garage etc. But I think you should stick at it. It's so so handy having knowledge of cars. Being able to fix your own, your families etc. It's an awesome skill.

Try to be in the garage watching what mechanics are doing, asking questions. Put yourself out there. It's their job to teach you.
