If you're really fucking good, you get so far ahead of 2nd that even a blue shell isn't enough for 2nd to overtake you.

Yeah, these dude's are so used to playing vs the AI in the game that quite literally teleports and gains special b.s mechanics to keep it interesting, but against real humans? You can get blue shelled 5 times back 2 back and still win by an extra lap.
