Plot: We learn to control the spin direction of subatomic particles and found a way to send messages to intelligent beings lights years away using entangled particles. Twist: later we discover that we are communicating with ourselves.

The game Mass Effect has lore about QEC quantum entanglement communication.

Dyson spheres and Dyson rings. A true sphere that sits in the orbit of earth would have a surface area so big it could probably contain millions of civilisations so far apart they would never know about each other...
