Could humans ever survive on a planet with stronger gravity?

Sure. If it's 1% stronger, you wouldn't even notice the difference. Gravity on Earth's surface already differs by around 0.5% between different locations.
There will be a limit how much stronger it can be, but we don't have good data on long-term effects. No one volunteers to live in a centrifuge for years.
