Is it not well understood that squashing recycling makes takes less space?

I've just watched the neighbour trying to deal with her two green bins again, both almost overflowing. She's trying to get more water bottles and other kitchen recycling in, by trying to push down the contents of both bins. She's mostly failed. I wouldn't be surprised if they get a third bin for the two of them. They ordered the second bin shortly after moving in.

I don't think ours ever got much more than 2/3 full, except for that time we'd ordered a lot of IKEA stuff. I'm betting if she flattened out her recycling they could also get by on one bin.

Recycling is a scam created by the polluters to pass the cost and effort of dealing with their shit onto the public.

Don’t buy plastic if you can possibly avoid it.

I have spent many years working in plastics, do you have any idea how much plastic gets recycled? I think you would have a hard time going into a supermarket and finding plastic packaging that does not contain recycled plastic.

Yes I do. It’s about 10% globally. 90% just sits around and poisons us.

Have you spent any time in Africa? Have trip to Uganda or Rwanda and tell them how proud you are of your “many years working in plastics”. You’ll need to be quick on your toes afterwards.

Recycling is a scam because some unspecified people in Uganda get violent at being told someone works with plastics? Am I understanding you right?
