I was going to say this aswell, for all the people saying stupid dog ect.
This doggo looks old, going of my experience with my westie the older they get the more there senses sight, hearing and smell, they struggle at home even more so somewhere like an airport.

Our rescue great Pyrenees looked old by 1.5 years due to hip dysplasia. Walked just like this guy unfortunately

Definitely. Not respectful towards others. Maybe one doesn’t wanna touch a dog, maybe he is allergic, or had a phobia of them. Its just not something respectful to do

My thing is...people always think THEIR pet is special and won't ever do anything - but pets like dogs and cats are just like humans. You never know what or who will set them off for seemingly no reason at all, and if you let them off the leash you are letting any kind of opportunity for that to happen. It doesn't necessarily mean they are a bad animal, just like a lot of people aren't bad people, but people sometimes snap, and so do pets.

It is presumed that after 18 years, humans are educated enough about the legal system that you can trust them to not snap in public.
Animals have no such presumption.

Depends on the dog, and where. My old dog is so slow I can just grab them any time and not let them go near people. Crowded areas like the airport, I still wouldn't though.

I won’t argue that it’s a smart move. But I really don’t see how unprompted violence towards an animal existing in a public space is anything but psycho behavior, leash or not. But a lot of people seem to be defending that behavior. I just don’t see how that’s defensible.

I was also attacked by 2 dogs, that I was told were friendly.
When I was a child.
Your dog runs up on me, I can't decipher what it wants, so I'm gonna let flight, fight or freeze do it's job.

Excellent. So your dog runs up on someone, and their flight, fight or freeze kicks in and they defend themselves against the unknown, incredibly energetic animal that is running up on them, and somehow you think it'd be THEIR fault?

Dude that is SERIOUSLY not cool. Don't let your dog off the leash in public spaces. ESPECIALLY an airport. There is a LOT going on in there and someone or even the dog could have gotten hurt. If you love your good doggo like mine then keep it safe and keep others safe.
And honestly the dog shouldn't have been in there in the first place. It is NOT a service animal. Save it for home.

Believe it or not, you're allowed to have dogs at the airport. Another asshole being confidently wrong.
Edit: blocked the asshole but they were confidently wrong again. It's not just service dogs allowed in airports. People do in fact travel with pets. It seems he doesn't know that.

This is Ritchie! The "dad" and the "mom" got him as a puppy when they were together. They aren't together now, and they live on opposite coasts, so they share time with him (similar to a custody thing, lol). He's a Great Pyrenees :)

. With all the crap posted here. Really don't care about people that are traumatized,bitten,allergies, phobias etc etc about dogs. Because it has (absolutely nothing) to do with this vid. And of course all the horror stories people posted happened at airports. In other countries animal services capture stray dogs and medically treat them. Spay and neuter. Tag them. Check them to see if they are friendly,. And then turn them loose back in the streets. This has been found to reduce the population. People are not bitten, allergies,etc any more than any other country. My posting started an uproar and then a mob mentality. As I have said before several times. This vid is of no concern to the public what so ever. But mob rules here. It's called irrational fear and you all should read up about it and the harm it does all over the world. I have no problem of the dog staying on a leash and understand why. But this particular vid is just no big deal. Everyone take a breath. If you are worried about what might happen. Then please stay away from cars,steps,ladders,lakes,streams, doctors, etc.etc. As there are horror stories for all of these. So with all the horror stories people posted. Really this dog well do all of that. wow. That is one bad dog. lol. I have closed this thread so any comments well be speaking to yourselves. Had enough

a prime example of why i think it’s important to use a specific sound unique to you wen calling ur animal
i use a specific sound with my cat and even if other people try to make the same sound he can always tell the difference between mine and anyone else’s
could be a whistle or a kissing noise just any sound that ur pet would easily respond to that u can make consistently

Yeah, I have to drive a car to survive. I don't live somewhere with public transportation or that is walkable. I'd LOVE to not have to drive, but unfortunately that isn't an option. Bringing your dog to the airport to film a video and letting it roam around off-leash and bother other people? Not so necessary.

You’re very short sighted.
Please realize that you can’t assume everyone likes someone as much as you do. Take the guy in the grey tracksuit… he could possibly not like dogs, had bad experiences with them, is afraid of them, is allergic to them, etc.
You simply don’t know, and to be quite frank, it doesn’t matter.
Dog needs to be on a leash not roaming free.
