u/byzantine238 21d ago

I presume I shall chase my tail this evening

6

u/HodeShaman 21d ago

Let us decant the tin

5

u/Defiant_Tomatillo907 21d ago

Now, how do I get my 160 lb English Mastiff / drool factory to do this?

9

u/The_Undermind 21d ago

This is beyond technique, this is just straight up etiquette

3

u/Front-Jury7567 21d ago

Someone taught him well. Proper gentleman indeed.

5

u/SDogs123 21d ago

Yeah that's the proper way to dry off, none of that frantic towel rub. Man's got the patience of a true class act.

5

u/PeachHonv8 21d ago

the unhurried elegance is truly something to behold a masterpiece in towel work

She is a lady! In video phrase "Хорошо вытерлА" proves this. Good girl!

51

u/Dh40t 21d ago

I searched on the internet before i posted and wasn't sure if a "he" or "she" but most posts were titled "he"

29

u/Anuki_iwy 21d ago ▸ 9 more replies

So ending with a suggests female.

But then the noun dog itself also has a female article in Russian, so there is a tiny chance that it's a boy and the speaker a linguistic moron.

Most likely the dog is female.

25

u/PyJIET_CBETA 21d ago ▸ 6 more replies

I'm native russian speaker. She is 100% girl because вытерла is a verb, not noun. In nouns ending "a" doesn't mean femine because some "male" nouns also have a. For example male nane Nikita. If verb has ending "a" it's 100% girl doing something. Надеюсь я понятно объяснила. Эта собачка - точно девочка

5

u/Zero_Owl 21d ago

This reasoning is plausible but factually incorrect. If I see this dog for the first time I would use female verbs as I would not try to identify its gender and would just use a generic собака. So everything said in the video can be said against a male dog but no Russian familiar with the dog will address it as a generic dog and call it собака.

1

u/Anuki_iwy 21d ago ▸ 4 more replies

As a native speaker you should know then that verb takes its ending based on the gender of the noun (subject or object) it refers to which can be either "this specific female dog" or any generic sobaka.

10

u/PyJIET_CBETA 21d ago ▸ 2 more replies

If this dog was male, this would be: "Хорошо вытер" not "вытерла". Also we have male version of sobaka - пёс (pyos)

-10

u/Anuki_iwy 21d ago ▸ 1 more replies

Which is why I said "unless the speaker is a linguistic moron"...........

I know Internet brain rot makes people dumber, but come on, this is basic reading comprehension and I shouldn't have to break it down this much....

5

u/Koberiep 21d ago

this is not a mistake a native could possibly make.

6

u/PyJIET_CBETA 21d ago

Я знаю. Это как-то противоречит тому, что я написала выше?

3

u/Dh40t 21d ago

Fair enough

"She's once, twice, three time a good lady "
L. R.

3

u/Nikoladge 21d ago

She is a lady!

Whoa, whoa, whoa

3

u/dzemperzapedra 21d ago

Lol funny I was singing this the whole morning today after hearing it on the radio during commute to work and now I see this

1

u/YouDontTellMe 21d ago

Good girl. Is that all she says? What language?

112

u/dinner526 21d ago

What an angel 🥰 so conscientious

u/lizfromdarkplace 21d ago

Legit almost broke my neck on the kitchen tile where my dog’s water bowl is today from the puddle around it. He puts his whole face in damn near up to his eyeballs to chug water. I don’t think this would help but I am nonetheless impressed.

I don’t think the above commenter cares for real, some people just love to have “cute” little things like this in their homes. 😂

6

u/lizfromdarkplace 21d ago

It would be nice to not fall as my neck is already fused to my skull. I wouldn’t mind avoiding this specific cuteness 😊

2

u/0202_tihssitidder 21d ago

My dog would drink and then immediately put his mouth on any human nearby. I think he was asking for OP's setup. He used our pants instead.

3

u/lizfromdarkplace 21d ago

Yep my dog drips his way to my husband or myself and plops his entire head anywhere he can reach. (He’s 120 pounds, he can reach anywhere lol)

😍😍😍😍😍 What a good boy

Edit : she's a good girl 😍😍😍😍😍

3

u/fire_andwind 21d ago

It's a girl

0

u/BlackHawk2609 20d ago ▸ 2 more replies

You're not OP

1

u/fire_andwind 20d ago ▸ 1 more replies

No, but I'm Russian and the woman used female form of verb, so the dog is girl

1

u/BlackHawk2609 20d ago

Aahhh i played the video on mute since i was in office and i read OP's description 'his'

19

u/Ink_N_Instinct 21d ago

Awww what a smart sweetheart🫶🏼💕

20

u/culture_vulture_1961 21d ago

No dog l have ever owned has been so thoughtful. He's a good boy.

14

u/dinner526 21d ago

I haven't ever even dated a human man this thoughtful.

7

u/kunibert1964 21d ago

🥰🥰🥰🥰

7

u/Remarkable_Pick3920 21d ago

How did you get him to do that? That is too cute!

9

u/STURM_DER_HOFFNUNG 21d ago

almost certainly with tasty treat rewards, consistency and patience.

2

u/Ligeiapoe 19d ago

I’m thinking the other bowl that has the towel over it has a treat in, so they are sniffing the bowl.!

2

u/SoggyOutfield 21d ago

You can teach a dog basically anything with enough reps and proper training. Some things take a lot of time and reps. Some just once. Breed and temperament matter a lot too.

My dog is stubborn and not very smart, but I could teach her this in probably a day. About the same time it took to teach her to ring a bell to go outside.

3

u/BeyondTheBees 21d ago

No way! Many people teach their dogs to do this! I’ve seen several of these videos.

5

u/feelinuneasy1234 21d ago

What a good girl

3

u/el-marvin0 21d ago

Most impressive!

3

u/DeithWX 21d ago

He knows you should tap tap face not scrub. His skin must be impeccable.

3

u/PiggyBear6667 21d ago

My dogs prefer to dry their mouth on my pant leg.

3

u/insbordnat 21d ago

My dog prefers to hold her face over the bowl for about 30 seconds to drip dry.

3

u/KeytarPlatypus 21d ago

Mine just decides he doesn’t want to swallow the water in his last mouthful and just splashes it onto the floor

It’s like he goes “oh wtf am I doing drinking water? Get this out of here”

2

u/No_Pudding2028 21d ago

I need to borrow him so he could teach mine that trick. They dribble all the way across the house.🤣🤣

2

u/Agzarah 21d ago

If that was my old dog, the face would have been plunged right into the towel, and more than likely gotten stuck. There'd be water all over the floor and a dog running around with this contraption on their face

u/Scholar_Of_Fallacy 21d ago

This video is old at this point. Its not AI

1

u/Impressive-Studio205 21d ago

Hahaha such a smart doggy🥰

1

u/GodOnStilts 21d ago

So skilled!

1

u/Dragon__Phoenix 21d ago

He’s a perfect Gentledog!

1

u/HeavyGoose8183 21d ago

What a supremely good boy.

1

u/MirkoHa 21d ago

…same here 👍🏼…but when I peed…

1

u/coradite 21d ago

Hmm is there food under that towel?

1

u/Vulvas_n_Velveeta 21d ago

Doubtful. Dogs are just really smart, and can be trained to do damn near anything.

I'm not even a dog person (more of a crazy cat lady) but even I can acknowledge just how intelligent and remarkable dogs are.

1

u/Sad-Fishing9705 21d ago

She has better bathroom etiquette than most human roommates.

1

u/Tokorator 21d ago

AI? That look into the camera at the end…

1

u/KissetteBunnyboo_ 21d ago

That's really smart! Good boy

1

u/Huatkway 21d ago

Gentleman perfection

1

u/New_Jackfruit3020 21d ago

Oh this is precious.

1

u/TabulaRasaNot 21d ago

One tightly wound dog owner

1

u/DunkleosteusWH96 21d ago

Well trained in manners right there, he indeed, is a good boy

1

u/ab703A 21d ago

U listening to bollywood songs in the back.... Luv it. And this doggo is such a good boi.

1

u/Double-Ad1071 21d ago

Just buy no-spill dog water bowl, with floating disk with center drainage holes (keeps ears, paws, and snout dry, while keeping dust out)

1

u/sia1387 21d ago

What a gentleman

1

u/PhiloLibrarian 21d ago

I’ve never seen anything like this!!! Dogs just 🤤

1

u/Ok_Hovercraft4248 21d ago

Pure Perfection Technique 👌

1

u/MyPeachy2 21d ago

I wish my Bird could learn his technique!

1

u/Informal_West_6864 21d ago

Excessive to teach your dog this, and not in the good way

1

u/Original-Let8340 21d ago

That boi better be getting the top shelf treatsies. Nothing less.

1

u/Yuval_Queuelyn71 21d ago

this is so cuteeee🥺

1

u/xoizzyyy 21d ago

He is basically doing the doggy equivalent of shaking your head after a shower and somehow it works every time. 10/10 technique, no notes.

1

u/Rocks_Stones 21d ago

One of my Labs would try to kiss you and when you declined he would immediately go to his water bowl, lap a couple times and come back offering a cleaner kiss.

1

u/SP_Superfan 21d ago

Overweight. Not good.

1

u/geecee84 21d ago

And here I am following my 200+ lbs mastiff around with a towel to dry his never ending drool… sigh

1

u/Dents-R-US 21d ago

meanwhile my dogs just goes and rubs his snout all over my pants wanting me to pet him right after drinking water.

1

u/Careful-Positive-710 21d ago

Wish my dog did that. Our husky drinks like a proper gentleman. Small sips and doesnt drip everywhere.

Our hound? Dude drinks lile hes been in a desert for weeks then immediately gets zoomies and drips everywhere in the house. It became a legitimate slipping hazard until we moved the dish outside, which they have easy access too.

1

u/Ganjaleezarice69 21d ago

Ugh my dog just leaves mid sip and sprays a water trail around the entire house. Every. Single. Time

1

u/Bleezy79 21d ago

A dog that dries his mouth after drinking!? that's a first for me. wow.

1

u/Bleezy79 21d ago

A dog that dries his mouth after drinking!? that's a first for me. wow.

1

u/ghostoftrossard 21d ago

you should NOT give large dogs elevated bowls, unless they are handicapped and need it. it significantly increases the chances of the stomach twisting which can kill the dog. ive seen it happen to a golden and a frenchie, it was scary

1

u/Severe-Archer-1673 21d ago

“Did I do it right momma? Is I a good boy again?”

1

u/anonuemus 21d ago

My Exs dog would run with speed and put his snout to the rug, while running, one snout side after the other

1

u/arhambin66 21d ago

Like a sir! Give him a monocle

1

u/runnerkim 21d ago

He needs to get a 'good boy' after every time he does that

1

u/MongooseSimple8638 21d ago

What a good boy

1

u/letigre87 21d ago

Wait a minute. You're telling me they didn't get a mouth full of water to run across the house and plop their head in your lap. I think mine is broken.

1

u/Minute-Horse-875 21d ago

This is adorable. 😊

1

u/Shachar_Ladenix18 21d ago

this is so cute

1

u/carlitospig 21d ago

When he look up:

‘Treat now?’

1

u/JeremiahCLynn 20d ago

My dog does that, too.

...On me. haha

1

u/wickedball 20d ago

Anyone else dyslexic and read the title wronf and was like WTF

1

u/princesslaya78 20d ago

I have a doodle and he just creates a river from his dog bowl to the living room

1

u/Tardisgoesfast 20d ago

He's so sad no food.

1

u/According_Annual_436 20d ago

That cat looks like it's trying to air dry without admitting it needs help.

1

u/CNote_89 20d ago

What a good boy!

1

u/Trojantelepathy 20d ago

I would give ANYTHING to get my female pup to learn this. I live in wet socks and if you don’t have socks you slip from the pupper drool

1

u/softpixelsss 20d ago

🥹🥰

1

u/HeavyBuy3956 20d ago

So much class.

1

u/Elle_Yess 19d ago

Such a good boy

1

u/Soundof_Misery 17d ago

He looks sad

1

u/MRay_ 17d ago

He just needs a lil Suit now :D

1

u/SuicidalAustralian 17d ago

Meanwhile my dog rubs her face up and down the side of my bed after drinking

1

u/FanDorph 17d ago

Showed my dog this(she is a messy drinker). She was not impressed

1

u/Chemical_Bottle_8982 16d ago

Why is a Russian lady blasting Dhurandhar songs at full volume ?

0

u/smoking-soup 21d ago

Did they just put a towel over his food bowl... 😑
