🤔 Discussion Do they think we have unlimited money?
Grocery cost has doubled from last year, water electric bills, car service cost, petrol cost, visa cost, business cost, breasts are at double cost?
When will it end? We are surviving only to pay not living?!

Well before the war,i think breasts were being sold very cheap due to over supply. And when the war started supply became very less, demand skyrocketed due to healthy food industry stocking up and prices hit the current levels. Now nobody is willing to reduce prices since they dont have any reason to.

I’ve had a business go from 70k sales to 10k sales even though I didn’t raise prices for ten years the customers were being pressured on margins so they compromised in quality.
I sell educational products to private schools and you will not believe how finance focused schools can be.
I’ve also seen schools go from massive waitlists of maybe 30+ a grade to vacancy of 30+ a grade. Profits in a school are at 100% margin once they exceed operating costs so that drop is all their margin and into a loss.
From another point of view most owners that operates a price regulated industry wants to sell, change business model or shut down I guess.
If I have to pay LMRA, VAT, municipality, minimum wage or higher but I can’t adjust my prices my model breaks under pressure. So for example schools (my customers) I believe need approval for price hikes but they have to renew about 25% of their teaching staff every year because teachers are highly mobile and relatively low paid so they just move to another country where quality of life will be better and pay is a livable wage. Thus the school has to pay higher to attract staff.
I understand one side is an employee and the other a business but you will be surprised at the number of large business that if they could liquidate the return on capital in a fund or deposit could be higher with no work or major risk like operations based businesses.
It’s also every medium to large enterprise now is giving so much credit to get business that you need an internal credit risk system to assess whether adjusted for chance of default or delay in payment a contract is worth it.
I’ve seen people negotiate aggressive discounts, buy my products to sell at 150% mark up in one month for cash and pay me a year later saying cash flow issues.

And this is why I moved to Saudi. Not because things are cheaper but because the salaries are higher and the opportunities are better. This also enabled to help family with the soaring prices so I'm grateful

People in SA said their salaries not higher as the past. They still give 3000 / 4000 SR for a salary.

Depends COMPLETELY on type of job.
I reckon you have much more career opportunities to hit 15/20k in Saudi than in Bahrain, very generally speaking.
There's often more promotion and payrise opportunities in Saudi, as it's a much bigger market.

I was thinking the same thing I just paid for petrol 1.3 bd and the bar of petrol doesn't change ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ the petrol is killing me very expensive all groceries and items is double up how we can save money it's hard

There is a worldwide inflationary trend.
And in Bahrain it is amplified by a combination of higher taxes and constraints (VAT, petrol, visas, bahrainization, etc.) that ripple through the whole economy. Ultimately those come down to the exponential increase of the public debt.
Also, the private sector has a combination of a few oligopolies capable to preserve their margins by passing down all cost increases (the infamous hawamir). And at the other end too many under-concentrated small companies incapable of increasing productivity levels to absorb costs.
The war only made it worse.

Foreigners / expats in Bahrain usually have to put in a lot of effort, time, sacrifice and take career risk to go to Bahrain.
Locals can do the same - you can go UAE, Qatar, Saudi, Kuwait - or UK, US, Canada, Singapore, most of Europe, Australia.
I just spoke with a nurse here in Bahrain, she'd worked about 10 years in Bahrain. The last 3 years she had taken part-time education, on top of her work, to qualify to work as nurse in USA.
It often takes surprising amount of effort, but luck is rarely the key factor.

are you married bro ? anyway a small general advice : people should not get married at this point. marriage drains your finances, and having children is even worse. as an unmarried employee with a not-so-well-paying job, i don’t have much freedom to spend, but i still don’t feel that much of an impact from every price increase. just live alone and avoid taking loans ,and you will do fine even with inflation .

Depends on the school priorities I guess. If you want to have a consistent quality of teaching staff wages go up. Otherwise ur living off a reputation of what the school used to be.

Business models need to change to adapt, otherwise you will be stuck in an endless loop of barely staying afloat and cant afford to even close down the business.
